OTD $17,849.00 in Tulsa, OK. They need to move cars. Still have TTL to pay at the DMV :(

I am a Honda dealer in the Minneapolis area. I did a quick search for a 2009 Element LX 4WD in my internal Honda locater for the following states: AL, TN, GA and MS. In the four states I found three. Wolfchase Honda of Bartlett, TN has two and Gerald Jones Honda of Martinez, GA has one. Just for fun I checked OK to see what they show in-stock. I found that Don Carlton Honda of Tulsa has one and Bob Howard of OK City has just one as well. Your local dealer is correct, no one in AL can deliver one until May.
Honda Fit Help

I certainly appreciate this message board. My son suggested a Honda Fit to replace my 2000 Suzuki Grand Vitara. In Tulsa, OK I could only find one used one and one new one to drive. Now negotiating comes into the deal. I am bad at it and am finding through these postings that $16,174 which includes tax, title, license is not really a bad deal. It was suggested that the negotiating could include free installations of add-ons, free oil changes, tire rotations, etc. that the dealership has some leeway in providing. Am I thinking right about this???

We don't pay sales tax in OK at the time of the sale, usually. So, it's understood here that OTD means car, plus lien entry fees, plus doc fees, NOT including TTL. So, you are right after it's all said and done...add about $1K to the total price. Sorry for the lack of clarification on that!!

I think we came out OK, too, but part of the deal was floor mats 'at cost'. With some retail experience, my understanding of a usual mark-up on something like this would be 40-50% of cost. So, I'm really hoping that someone here could tell me if that's really cost in the auto industry for accessories. I also find it odd that the cost is different for two accessories that claim to have the MSRP. How could that be? I'll have to inquire again when I go in to pick up the cross-bars and mats.

Less than $27K OTD on the EX-L plus the special financing... You got an OK deal (for example, you could have said you paid 17K and that would sound much more impressive) and I can't believe the dealer is trying to rip you off by charging fourteen dollars more for those mats. Bad dealer, bad ;-)
