^^^^ Yup, sure did. Fuel price is a cell in the spreadsheet so an accurate comparison can be made from one car to another, no matter the mileage, fuel type, or price/gal.

I am considering some sort of new car and have test driven an Si. A co-worker has two Jetta TDI's getting almost 50mpg. I've often wondered what "the numbers" would be when compared to an Si at 31mpg (hwy) or an EX at 39mpg. So I made a spreadsheet and posted it for all to use. Check it out: Google Docs Gas Mileage Spreadsheet If this works correctly, any of you should be able to change the blue cells to reflect your particular situation. The results are interesting, and make it much easier to sift through some of the info learned from this great forum. Keep in mind that the numbers I used are not exact, but just numbers found on this (or other) forums from actual user experiences. YMMV. :P Don't "Save and Close", just exit. Enjoy; feedback appreciated! (Posted in the "Prices Paid" forum to help others considering one particular vehicle over another crunch the fuel cost numbers)
'08 Pilot Purchase experience in NC
by lillygirl11 on Tue Jul 08 11:29:07 PDT 2008
Hello, I am interested in any info on recent purchase experiences in NC, specifically the RTP, NC area (Durham, Raleigh) or the Triad, NC area (Winston Salem, Greensboro, Burlington). "Any purchase tips" are much appreciated! I am looking for a 2008 EXL FWD or 4WD, no NAV or RES. Best price so far is $28k TTT. Seems like the dealers in this area aren't willing to budge on price....or is this a good deal? Carsdirect.com told me today quote "Unfortunately, none of my dealers have any 08 Pilot EXL 2wd in stock. Honda stopped production on those vehicles in January so, the inventory has depleted." Thanks!

I'll bet the wider tires on the Sport models knock the fuel economy down slightly. They probably also make the Sport worse in snow (I wouldn't know, haven't taken delivery of my Fit yet, but it's on the way). I have an out-the-door price of about $16,250 on an 08 Fit Sport manual from Criswell in Germanton, MD. Very good people to deal with so far. The car hasn't been built yet; it's to be delivered in July. Flow Motors in Winston-Salem, NC tried to gouge me for $17,095 for an in-stock model, padding with an "administrative" fee and boosting the destination charge by hundreds until they had their original figure. This was after bargaining with me. Why they couldn't just be honest and say they were sticking with MSRP+ I don't know, but it was a very bad experience and I cancelled my order. Beware.
Touring in western Virginia

First many thanks to all the posters on this forum. The knowledge available here made buying our Odyssey a pleasant experience. Never thought I'd be able to say that. Bought from Hokie Honda in Christianburg VA for $35,438, including dest, doc fee, mud guards and a pretty pin stripe. That's with 0.9 financing for 36 months. Of course I could have had other financing and a price of $34,438. But even with an $11,000 down payment, the 0.9% is $500 cheaper over the three years. That was not the cheapest price, but the others were 2 to 2 1/2 hours away and didn't have the mud guards and pin stripe. I would recommend Hokie Honda, Asheboro NC Honda at $35,240, Rule Honda in Staunton VA at $35,261, and Honda of Lake Norman NC at $35,341. Good prices and good people. At least thru e-mail. I tried all the dealers in Richmond, Winston/Salem, Greensboro, and Charlotte, and none of them were competitive. One or two were downright ridiculous. The only one that I think was playing games was Hendrick Honda in Charlotte. They actually had the lowest quote at $34,946, but their quote didn't reference the 0.9% and when I asked them about it, I never got a response. Anyone close to western VA and in the market for a Touring, try Hokie Honda, they had 7 non-Pax Tourings out of a total of 34 Odysseys. Again many thanks to this forum, I know you saved me money, I don't know how much, but the Edmunds TMV is $35,993. If that's the average selling price, not including accessories, and I'll bet that most people take the $2000 rather than the special financing, then there's a lot of people paying a lot more than the posters on this forum. Thanks from one happy Hokie.
