Two days ago 3/3/08 I got an internet offer from Crowne in Chapel Hill, NC for EXL for 29,416 plus fees. Tonight 3/6 it was $27,716 plus fees.

Yes, Breakaway's price was OTD. They did not break it down, but as a SC Resident it would have gone something like this: Vehicle (including destination): $28,936 SC Taxes (they're capped at $300) $300 Tags: $39 I'd suspect that the vehicle price is actually slightly lower, and they charge a doc fee, but the OTD is the same. If you're in NC, your taxes and tags will be higher, of course (sorry!). Here are the NC Dealer quotes I received. All are OTD, based on South Carolina taxes/tags (Taxes in SC = $300, tags = $39). Adjust as needed for NC. Auto Park Honda - Cary $29,558 High Country Honda - Boone $29,664 Vann York Honda - High Point $30,000 Asheboro Honda - Asheboro $30,273 Crown Honda Chapel Hill - Chapel Hill $30,599 Bob Barbour Honda - Greenville $30,754 Alan Vester Honda - Roanoke Rapids $32,508 The following NC dealers did not response with a quote (make of it what you will): Burlington Honda - Burlington Coastal Carolina Honda - New Bern Courtesy Honda - Goldsboro Davenport Honda - Rocky Mount Hope that helps!

the dealership is crown honda Durham nc chapel hill they have one left its desert color. Can get that one for 372mth i had to dealer trade for mine thanks

I am being told that it is almost impossible by NC dealers to get a 2wd. Chapel Hill has found 3 in my chosen color for 23,488. I am thinking about going with this. I have been pleased with my interaction with this dealership via the internet. I wonder though she I check out dealers in SC.

After much researching and test driving of different cars, my girlfriend decided the Honda Fit was best for her. I helped my her locate a Fit yesterday, and she's very happy and excited about her purchase. She wanted the Sport trim with AT in either the silver or blue color. We live in the Triangle area of NC (Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill) and had no luck finding one - waiting times ranged from 3-8 weeks for the next available. So, I called just about every Honda dealer in NC. Half of those did not have any Fits available, and the ones that did had the Base trim and/or MT. One had a Sport MT and was asking $17,500! Thankfully, I found one in Greenville, NC (about 1.5 hrs away) that was a Blue Fit Sport with AT. The initial price they gave me when I called was $16,908. I countered with the dealer invoice price of $15,970. They wouldn't bite and mentioned the high demand for the car. I gave them a final offer of $16,520 (MSRP) which they accepted. We drove down there to pick it up and she ended up paying $17,353 after taxes, tags, and doc fees. Floor mats were not included nor available at the dealer. Customer service at the Greenville Honda dealership was superb! She's very satisfied with the car. Our only concern thus far is the low ground clearance. She's already scraped the front end underbody while leaving a gas station's driveway, but now realizes she'll have to be more careful and mindful (her previous car was a Chevy Blazer). We're looking forward to our 1500-mile roundtrip to Indiana for Memorial Weekend in this fuel-efficient car.

Well I guess the Internet Dept is offering much better deals than in person because Crown Chapel Hill was one of the few I went by in person and I was offered $700 below MRSP and $1000 less on my trade than Car Max! I did go through the Internet Dept and an EX-L was $29,188.00 including destination which put Crown at #10 of 20. It sounds like the person that got offered the Demo at Leith went in person rather than using the Internet. No dealer I visited in person had a competitive offer. I would NEVER visit a dealer to negotiate again. I never saw my salesperson until I walked in with the check. As of the end of June when I bought mine, I had the following prices on an EX-L, all including the $515 destination. (Almost all dealers quoted with dest included but you need to be clear on that anyways.) None include Tax, Title or Doc fes since that varies so much. 1. Leith Honda - Raleigh - $28,385.00 2. Hendrick Honda - Woodbridge VA - $28,806.00 3. Burlington Honda - Burlington NC - $30159.00 (Didn't give a breakdown but this one is OTD which was still #3) 4. Hendrick Honda - Easley SC = $28,995.00 5. Hendricks Honda - Charlotte NC - $28,975.00 (Doc fees were a little higher than Easley) All of these top five were professional, competent and had my respect and trust. Depending upon price offered and distance, I would buy from any of them.
