Dear "shhessy" you are right Civic is very low car in comparison to Corollas, Mazdas3, etc. I heard that some people have problem "plowing the snow" even with few inches of fresh snow on the ground. It is a great car but not good for snow areas like Boston, Buffalo NY or Syracuse NY etc. I think you can do ALOT better than 17K (~16 and some change). Few dealer admitted to me that civics (or any other cars) just NOT moving (people stopped buying cars totally). By the way CIvic is Civic - it is not a Accord or Camry. Why should you be paying for Civic if you cab get Camry for few more hundreds, or get Corolla for thousands less. There is an expectation that HOnda will reduce the prices (behind the scenes) like others: Toyotas, Nissans and domestics in desparation to move some wheels of the lot. Notice that they cut the production but still HUGE oversupply of cars makes it dificult to sell for higher prices than others. Dont rush - just be very firm and you will get the deal of your life, even if you have to wait until January. Good luck, Happy Holidays

I'm also looking for an 08' Odyssey EX, any idea what rebates or dealer cash are being offered. I've seen an ad for $23,399 (Syracuse, NY), so I'm assuming they were offering it at invoice with additional dealer cash of about $3500 but am not sure if this was a bottom line figure or what.

I'm in the Syracuse NY area. The $399/month is straight pay...I was planning on paying all the taxes up front...8% If I put no money down at all and keep my accessories, the payment comes out to be $430/month which was verified by the lease calculator that I use: http://www.leaseguide.com/calc.htm

Ozzy, I'm in upstate NY as well, Binghamton, and am interested in what dealers you worked with and which one you ended up with and how you got your great price. I'm looking for an LX Manual Transmission. I've just started looking and have one initial email quote for 16,400 from a Syracuse dealer. Any info would be a big help. Thanks, Scott

So I'm buying an 08 Accord LX for my mother who lives in central NY (I live in northern california). Was going to go with a quote I got from Lamacchia Honda in Syracuse (21785 otd), but I see people on this board in other states claiming they are paying almost $1000 under that out the door. Think I can do better? Also, someone claimed they paid $21500 before TTL for an EX. That is $121 under invoice. I'd love to get her an EX if I could get that price. Think this is possible in upstate NY? Thanks

I paid 24213 for a EX - L I traded in 2007 Camry SE 4 cyl with 41k on it I was allowed 14650 (Wholesale) for the Camry . There was $ 650 difference in the two dealers here in Syracuse NY
