From reading these forums, I get that there's no real difference between the 2009 vs 2010. I think there are more incentives for the 2009 meaning that you should be able to pick it up for less. I just bought a 2010 EX-L in New Jersey for about the same : 30,855 base + dest 249 Doc charges 2,738 tax (8.875% NYC taxes) 164 tags and reg 53 Out of State MV Fee ====== 34,059 Total OTD The main difference is my higher taxes and higher fees. I didn't really fight over the fees because I did this as a Clunker deal and since I was getting 3,500 for a car that was only worth a couple of hundred at the most, I just wanted to get the deal done. The only other thing I want to add was that I had gotten a blank check from CapitalOne for 4.25% for 5 years but at the dealership they offered financing thru America Honda at 3.99% for 5 years. Good luck with the van -you'll love the space that it gives you - especially with the kids.

I recently purchased a Bali Blue 2010 Honda Odyssey at DCH Honda in New Jersey. I did this as a clunker deal, trading my beat up 89 Bronco II for 3,500 and got the following deal: Price: 30,145 Destination: 710 Doc Chgs: 249 Est Reg/Title 200 Out of State MV 53 NYS Tax: 2,738 Total 34,095 Good deal?

I noticed in your previous e-mail that you bought a 2009 EX-L RES (congrats!) for $31,215. Did that price include the $1,250 incentive? There are no incentives on the 2010, so I'm thinking (hoping) that its a good deal. Hard to tell when there's no 2010 pricing at this time, can't even get dealer cost.

Received an offer for Bali Blue 2010 EX-L of 30,145 + 710 dest and handling. Other charges are 249 for document fee +taxes and registration/title fee. Does this sound like a good deal? Hard to tell since Edmunds and Consumers don't have 2010 prices yet. Thanks.
Odyssey EX-L NAV RES from DCH Kay Honda in Eatontown

After a few weeks of educating myself through this board, I purchased a 2009 Honda Odyssey EX-L with RES and NAV, white exterior, from DCH Kay Honda in Eatontown, New Jersey yesterday. The overall experience was very positive, and I recommend them highly. The final cost of the Ody was $30,375. This amount does not include the dealer doc prep fee ($199), state mandated tire recovery ($7.50) and registration transfer ($48) fees, and sales tax. In addition, I qualified for Honda's incentive financing and elected to pay 3.9% on a 60 month term.

It depends on the dealer. Some dealers will register your vehicle in NY for you, in that case they collect the NY sales tax. If they don't, they shouldn't collect the sales tax, you would register the vehicle yourself when they get the NJ title, about 3 weeks after the sale. You pay the NY sales tax at that time. I've done it both ways.
