Odyssey EX w/trade in: by geeves229 on Sun May 04 09:14:16 PDT 2008; It gets a little confusing for me to determine my target price with a trade in. In live in Rochester NY where the sales tax is 8.25%, and I am going to be trying to trade in my 2006 Saab 9-2x. I went to NADA and got a value of $14,400, but it did not take into account the cold package I have on the vehicle. I figured on the low end if I can get $14,000 for it, trade in that should take the taxable amount down $14,000. If I am figuring this right, my target price should be about $1,000 less because I wont have to pay $14,000 in taxes. Is that right???? Also if anyone else in bougt a EX in NY in the last few months what was your OTD price??? Without the trade I figured my target price for the EX in NYS is $25,465. Should I be shooting for $24,465, because the formula takes into account taxes. The formula I used is posted below: MSRP = Sticker(includes Dest. Charge) Invoice = Can be found on Edmunds.com(include options) or kbb.com Rebates = Vary by local dealership (I use $2000 for EXL) Holdback (dealer's profit) = 3% of MSRP Estimate True invoice = Invoice - Rebates - Holdback tax = ?% x True Invoice Tags = whatever your states charges (typically $100 - $400) Low ball offer = True Invoice + tax + tags - $2,000 Target Price = [ (MSRP - Rebate - Low ball offer) ] / 2 + low ball offer (this is basically the formula I use)

Another lease question.: by juangruiz on Sat Jan 26 06:03:15 PST 2008; My wife decided to go with the Pilot EX-L AWD with NAV instead of just the EX-L AWD, so we went to the dealer and asked for their best offer and this is what we got on a 36 month/18k miles per year lease: sale price is $31,795, residual value is $16,877, money factor 0.0003, and monthly payments of $508.00. This is in Rochester, NY. I plugged the numbers on the Edmund's lease calculator and came up with $525.68/month. Any opinions on this deal?
