Dealer prices on the Island tended to fluctuate by the week over the several months I was looking around. I got a price of 32,218 on Oct.9 from Honda City and when I asked on 12-9 they quoted me $32,518. (You would think their price would go down at the end of the year.) Huntington probably had the most competitive prices when I checked in Oct. and Nov. However, I couldn't get anyone to return my calls the 2 days before I purchased. (They did call 2 days after I purchased.) If I were you I would request quote (via e-mail) from Hillside. They are in Jamaica, only 10 minutes past the Nassau border. See what kind of a quote you get and (if good),use it to bargain with your local dealers. Good Luck and let us know how it turns out.
Re: Installed Accessories on 05 CRV SE in CT/NY/NJ [blueiedgod]

I would recommend folks to stay away from Paragon Honda. When I was CRV shopping, they told me the car was on the lot for a test drive. I arrived 20 minutes later and it mysteriously was 'sold' and they tried selling me their used Acuras across their parking lot. Morons.... Needless to say, I went and bought my 05 from Hillside Honda in Jamaica two days later. The Internet salesman was a great guy - the F&I guy was a jerk, and tried to pull quite a few tricks on me. Thankfully, I escaped unharmed (no rust proofing, window etching, etc). He added $550 to the bill of sale for window tinting which I caught and told him I could do elsewhere for $200. So if anyone is in the market for a Honda, I would recommend visiting the Hillside Honda website where you can actually submit your quote for a coupla hundred below invoice and they will call you back and accept your price. Start negotiating from there!
Re: should I refinance my CRV now or wait? [maferna]
by dekorai on Tue Jul 12 05:08:30 PDT 2005
I know my F&I guy lied to me. He told me 10.9% first, then offered me 7.9% if I bought accessories. I declined, he still said I could keep 7.9% without the window tint which he quoted me $600 for! Right then, I knew something was fishy. So I took the offer (knowing I would refinance) since they offered me a good deal on the purchase price, but jacking up the interest rate. I will refinancing this Friday with my CU for whatever rate they offer me. I don't know if the dealer will get his kickback from AHFC since I financed less than 3 months, but I don't think he deserves it if he did pad my interest rate at least 400 basis points. My dealer was Hillside Honda in Jamaica (Queens, NY). I had approached Paragon Honda first for looking a a certified used 2004 CRV, which mysteriously 'disappeared' off the lot when I arrived 20 minutes later for a test drive. So I took my business to Hillside Honda for the 2005 CRV.
My Best quote BUT........

Everyone has read all these postings of best pricing as MSRP. Even with the 04 Sienna coming out. Here is what was offered to me. EX cloth, $25590 ($25130+$460). If you looked at invoice ($24,663) this deal was $927 above it. If you look at MSRP (27,360) this deal was $1770 below it. The only thing they threw in with the van were the cross bars, but I should not get greedy. After all I've read of positngs here where they were quoted $2k off of MSRP, however in my case I would have to fly out to Ohio or pay to have it shipped here, which would bring the the discounted price up higher than what I received. The way I see it is that any discount that I could get was still better than any of the NJ offers I was getting. To get the discount at where it is was even a bonus. To get something free was just a double bonus. I hope this is not my ship coming in, because I would have preferred for my ship to be a Powerball ticket. The dealership was Hillside Honda, over at Jamaica Queens NY. You may contact me for the names of the people I dealt with. Unfortunately for me, we ended on a hold status because my wife's position was not too secure as of this week. Dealer could not promise the same deal, but would try if anything changes in the near future.
