Re: Honda CRV AWD EXL 2010 - buy - pls suggest [ibuylotsofcars]

The only solution is to let Walmart get into the automotive dealership business and then everybody will pay the same low price for their cars!! Price Rollback on Hondas at Walmart ! I highly doubt Walmart would be in business of selling Hondas. The profit margins are too low for Walmart. And if they do get into the business of selling cars, it will most likely be some Chinese car that will break down while waiting in line to check out. Most of the stuff sold at Walmart is of low quality and of questionable materials, made by some 12 year old in China working 18 hour shift 7 days a week. Is that the business practice you support?

blueiedgod, I support any business that thrives on low profit margins, minimizes overheads and has an efficient distribution system. Walmart excels in this respect. As far as quality goes, it depends on the manufacturer, not the distributor. Quality will be the same whether you buy a Honda from Walmart or from a high priced local dealer. What you don't realize is that products sold at Walmart are often specifically made for Walmart to match Walmart's price point. What you think is the same Sony TV, has a part number that is 1 or 2 digits different from the one at any other retailer. It may have been "defeatured" or made to a differeing quality standard, or of inferior parts to match Walmart's price point. Most of Walmart's "efficiency" comes from squeezing its suppliers to the point of them barely making it. There was a great feature on CNBC that followed this couple who bet their whole retirement on a product and their struggles to sell it to Walmart. In the end, they had to have it made in China, out of inferior materials with fewer features to match Walmart's demands. So, not everything you see at Walmart the same as elsewhere. Check the UPC numbers.

I'm going to be a first time car lease customer in a month or so. I'm interested in a CR-V with the XM radio built in. I know I need to get the EX model, I prefer the 4WD option as well. Would anyone be able to possibly give me a ball-park estimate as to what the payment would be? I think you need to research more before jumping into leasing. With a proper down payment you can be leasing for a $1 a month. But, as many will suggest, you don't want to put any money down. Then it will come down to your credit worthiness.

Hi, here is the low down: msrp $25,805 Sale Price $23,780 36month lease 12k miles. $0 due at signing trade in Jeep Liberty, pay off $22,800 dealer allowing $19,200 (could be more, has no seen it in person) this is all over the phone & e-mail Payment $446.00 this is slightly less than my current payment of $484.00 and the CRv gets better gas mileage which is why i wanted it. If the only reason to get our of the Jeep and lose $3000 is the gas mileage, it will take a lot of driving to make it up with a $40/month difference. And if you are going to be driving that much, you will end up paying for it with extra miles at $0.15/mile. Every 1000 miles is going to cost you $150 at turn in time.
Re: 2010 CR-V EX-L with Navigation [mvs1]

The NAVI is expensive, it adds one additional feature whihc is bluetooth hands free phone. The EXL/NAVI in 2010 is roughly $700 more expensive than in 09' due to the addition of this feature. There are others; -Steering wheel mounted NAVI and phone controls -6 d-sc changer in the center console (to accommodate the NAVI) -Digital audio card reader My wife won't go for a portable NAV unit, and waited for the bluetooth to be integrated from the factory. I installed Pioneer AVIC F700Bt in the CR-V. It has AM/FM/XM/Sirius/HD/CD/MP3/DIVX/XVID/USB/Bluetooth/Voice Commands/GPS... I got it from Amazon for $400 shipped. Added the XM tuner and PAX steering wheel controls adapter ( to make Pioneer understand Honda steering wheel controls commands) for $120 from Crutchfield. A lot cheaper than the $2000+ Honda charges, and I can run any firmware on it.

Tell me what if anything was added on the vehcile or is the $27001 factory spanking bare?? My OTD quote is $27,352 but it has the add-on of tint, pinstripe, all season mat, cargo tray, and splash guard thrown in (they lowered the add-on price to $450, but I still feel like I was taken advantage of somehow). Rear doors, cargo, and hatch are tinted from the factory on the EX and EX-L. Did the dealer tint the front door windows? Otherwise, they are selling you somehting that is standard on the car.
