New Lease
by mikereyno on Tue Jun 16 09:52:33 PDT 2009
We currently have a 2006 Honda Pilot 5DR 2WD EX that we leased in 12/05 for 42 months at $316 a month with nothing down (in central NJ). The lease is up and my wife is debating purchasing this vehicle ($16,853.20) or leasing a new 2010. She contacted her credit union and used car payments would be $400/m. Can we expect better on a lease of a 2010 with nothing down?
Just picked up 4WD EXL w/RES Long Island
by sonup2000 on Sat Apr 04 04:26:07 PDT 2009
Just Got 4WD EXL w/res for 31695 with destination. I think I did fairly ok considering long island. Got it from Nardy Honda in Smith town. I have been researching for months . i have been keeping track of how much people have paid for this trim across the country in last 8 months. I sent emails to maybe 60 dealers around 200 mile radius. Their are lot of scammers out their who just want you to come in. Anyway got the lowest bid from DCH HONDA in paramus, nj . Nardy honda beat it . Henry from Nardy honda was the only one willing to do everything over the phone. he even sent me official quote before i drove to him. These guys were awesome made a deal over the phone after everything agreed (all over the phone) i put a deposit $100 credit card. went in and 20min later i was done. even the financing guy got me a very good rate . beat credit union and capital one. No surprises didn't try to sell me anything else. everything was just what he promised over the phone and in his faxed quote down to a penny. i wanted sterling with black just like lot of people out their. trust me their aren't that many out their so i just took what they had on their lot nimbus grey with beige interior. i wasn't so set on the black interior anyway. it gets really hot in the summer. i am just amazed by these guys honestly. no they didn't pay me to write a good review nor i work for them. i live in bellmore . their are plenty of honda dealers near me but the don't want to commit to anything over the phone. they all want you to come in and spend hrs. I don't have that kind of time to waste i know what i wanted and the number i was looking for. you can call me or email me for more info. i will be happy to help. btw they were unable to beat accessories price i was getting from bernardi online. which was no big deal. i did get the remote start installed from them that was additional $590 installed. i figured i can do teh running boards my self . just ordered the cargo tray and all weather mats from bernardi they are having a clearance sale. If anyone wants full detail breakout of OTD price I can email it to you. Mine came out to to 34709 OTD (damm 8.65 ny tax).
Re: 2008 Odyssey EX-L in NJ ? [ssk6]
by ssk6 on Wed Oct 29 10:54:44 PDT 2008
Thanks to everyone for the great information in this forum, it was really very helpful! Finally, we bought our 2008 Odyssey EX-L (Mocha Mettallic) on Monday 10/27/2008 from Planet Honda,Rt 22 W Union, NJ. They threw in the "Splash guards" and the "Door Edge Guards". The only extra thing (unnecessary) was $249 - KeyGuard service for 5 yrs. Here's the breakdown for our new 2008 Honda Odyssey EX-L, no RES, no NAV : $25844 (including destination -> $670). $1826.51 (7% NJ Taxes) $354 (MV Registration + Title) $349 (Doc fee) $7.50 (Tire Tax) $8.50 (Online charges/Fees -- ????) The OTD price was $28,639 and we got the 2.9% for 36 months. (which was still not bad at all - just missed on the 0.9% based on score). Did not get the GAP insurance or the extended warranty (7Yrs/75K for $1435 -- They were willing to extend it to 100K, since I denied 75K). We really wanted the Mocha Mettallic with as few extra add-ons as possible. Seemed like it would be difficult to get a basic 2008 EX-L in Mocha Mettallic by November, there are not many of them left in NJ. They had 1 more Mocha Mettallic and couple of Black, White and Ocean Mist mettallic. If anyone is interested, I can give the sales person name (He was very nice and not pushy at all - overall experience of all the people that we dealt was very nice). Good Luck to all the buyers and happy halloween !!!!
2008 Accord Sedan LX 4-Cyl Lease
by kzia on Sat Aug 02 16:24:43 PDT 2008
I just visited a local Honda dealer (Planet Honda, Union, NJ) to get more information about the nationally advertised Honda lease: "2008 Accord Sedan LX 4-Cyl Featured Special Lease" on http://automobiles.honda.com/current-offers.aspx?ModelName=Accord%20Sedan. I specified that I was looking for a basic 2008 Honda Accord Sedan LX (4-cyl), automatic transmission, no options added (as specified in the lease ad). Basically, it is a 36 month lease with $2,599 down, 12k miles, for $219 per month. The dealer added fees totaling up to $1,735 (included bank fee, first month payment, documentation fee, registration/license/title fees, tire tax, window etching fees, etc), all of which according to him are "required" and due at the time of lease signing. My question is: what is the lowest additional fees have shoppers found for this nationally advertised lease and from which dealer? Thanks.
Re: Honda Financing Remorse Issue [joshuaians]
by jfritsch on Mon Jun 23 04:32:27 PDT 2008
Honda doesn't offer rebates, and the dealer cash may be unadvertised if there at all, but usually these financing things are qualified with "participation may vary, etc" In any event, if our dealer gave you a lower price than most and made it up on the financing thats not unusual. If that manager didn't want to give the low rate with a price that far below invoice then it didn't apply (at that minute, second and their reading of your behaviour). If you would have seemed disappointed, said "gee, I really would love to sign now for 0.9%, perhaps I'll go and think about it for a few days" and headed for the exit perhaps they would have stopped you at the door, called back several days later agreeing, or just let you go. You don't know unless you do it. That is the game especially end of month. The "shenanigans" as you call it has been the deal with merchants for 5000 years. 1) If your state has a cooloff period then cancel the deal (or tell manager you will) 2) If its as easy to refinance as some members said you can do that at a credit union 3) Best option- have a talk with the manager(s) about your excellent credit, you want the lower rate or any satisfaction survey form you get about your experience from this dealership (and if you don't get one you will request one from honda america) will be all F's. However a finance at the low(er)rate will produce all A's. This is always a good option, success depending on how much the manufacturer is pushing survey results at the time (or at all) and the dealership's overall rating. This is one of the better levers the consumer has anymore, other than the numerous laws set up over the last 35 years. These surveys have grown in significance (dealer profit) over the last decade or two they were introduced. The factory's attempt to reign in some of the more wild cowboys amongst the independent dealerships in the USA. I would think last option would be to get F. Lee Bailey involved because of expense etc. As it stands now you probably got about an average deal on the car. Good luck --jjf I bought an EX yesterday (21,080 + fees), in NJ. I think I'm happy with the deal from what I've seen. I thought I was going to be able to finance using the current Honda deal (.9% or 2.9%, depending). It was the end of the day and I had asked the finance manager about and said that it didn't apply in our situation because we were buying for under invoice and I got a much worse rate (approx 5.8). I feel dumb now because I think that's shenanigans. Nothing I can see on the Honda site about the deal applies, and I have great credit. I plan on going to the dealer tomorrow and figuring out if there's anything I can do to get my rate changed to what I think it should be. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Do I have any recourse or am I screwed because I'm gullible? Am I better off dealing with Honda Finance at this point?

In March I bought my wife a 2008 EL-L with Nav (plus $1,000) towing package for $28,000 plus tax. Based on what I'm seeing on this thread, it appears to be a very good deal. Bought it at Planet Honda in Union, NJ
