If you are new to NJ and snow be advised that most highways and main streets are cleared of snow almost as soon as it falls. Snow is really not a problem. Anyhow Al Gore says with global warming we won't be having any snow any more....and based on the last couple of years (laugh)....as far as NJ is concerned... he could be right in the short term.

234.00 Registration Fee 289.00 Documentation Fee I assume the "Registration & Doc fees" cover the title and registration/license. I have looked at the NJ DMV and these might be a little high. well, you might want to press them what is included with that reg fee. 1 year registration is like $64, i believe (depending on weight class, which i'm not sure where the accord falls, could be lower), and a title transfer fee is $25. So, yeah, unless there are other items in there, its high. the doc fee has nothing to do with anything in real life. Its a fee tacked on by the dealer to "cover our paperwork." And, yes, $289 for this also seems high.

You should read the other posts. The going rate tends to be approx. $1000 under invoice. You are falling short of this mark. By the way the dealer is not giving you a $500 cash incentive. He is just giving you $500-$600 below invoice. Clearly you could do better and there is no reason why that would change after July 5th.

If you're shopping for best price, I wouldn't recommend Honda of Danbury (formerly Danbury Fair Honda) - right now. On 9/9, Danbury said they couldn't get anymore 2005 SEs (had previously quoted me 23484 base + 515 dest + 179 doc + Tax/DMV) For a 2006 SE, the Danbury Internet Mgr quoted 24764 base + 550 dest + 179 doc fee, etc. Riiiight -- I'm really gonna pay that much more for a 2006 (when Honda only increased the MSRP $200) David Michael Honda in Freehold NJ, just offered me a 2006 SE 23699 + 550 dest + 138.50 doc -- which I've passed on for now. He said it's onsite and can deliver by month end Sept. Unless he can include fog lights, running boards, or some other pack of accessories at that price, I'm planning on sticking with the 2005, which he says he should have next week. David Michael's black 2005 SE quote is 23329 + dest + doc (same as above)... we'll see if it really happens... it's been a month already... I've already started researching Civic Hybrids (50 mpg!). If this deal falls thru, I may take it as a 'sign from above' that the CRV & ME were not meant to be... ;-)

I agree with you in part that its the market situation which determines the price.....demand / supply forces. But here lies the catch, Many big fish (dealers) in my area are holding on to these vehicles in stock and flogging the customers with ridiculous prices (close to MSRP). I am aware of the fact that "ALLOCATION" is based on dealers volume sales........Given this fact, that these vehicles are hard to find and there is " Huge Demand " for this vehicle, The sale volume turnover for this vehicle should be high and Honda company should supply these vehicles based on turnover. But sadly, thats not the case. Part of the responsibility falls on Honda company, that they are not able to match up their supply to demand forces and Part responsibility lies with Honda Dealers, who inspite of knowing the fact that supply is less are not raising this issue with Honda company. It seems that there is unholy nexus between Honda company and Dealers on this particular model. Nonetheless, it will be sad situation for Honda company and Honda dealers both, coz they will loose their clients to toyota Sienna or some other brand...... Is Honda company listening :confuse: to this coz 2006 Sienna has definitely gone one up on Honda Odyssey
