Re: 2006 CRV EX AWD Manual Transmission - NJ [blueiedgod]

$20,500 in March is probably better than what I paid in July. Also I should have added that when I got to the dealer to purchase the car - it was on the showroom floor. I have no idea how long it was there for. Even when you think you got a good deal, only the dealer knows for sure.
2006 CRV EX AWD Manual Transmission - NJ
by farleyk on Mon Jul 17 19:10:12 PDT 2006
I purchased a Black CRV on July 8th. Here are the details. Invoice Price with destination - $21,662 Price of car with destination - $20,327 6% NJ sales tax - $1,219 Tire Fee - $7.50 Online Registration Fee - $7.70 (Dealer additional profit) Documentary Fee - $138 (Dealer additional profit) NJ Registration Fee for 4 years - $231 Total out the Door - $21,930.92 No trade-in and brought in my own financing. Generally speaking you should be able to get the CRV at $1300 less than invoice (give or take depending on doc fee's etc. . . ) Also note the Holdback for the dealer is approximately $680 and the dealer is getting back an additional $750 from the manufacturing. This will be going on for at least the next two months. The end of the month is usually the best time to get the car. Go in and tell the dealer what you will pay. Walk out if they won't come to your price.

Did they charge a documentation fee? If so, what was the cost?

You should read the other posts. The going rate tends to be approx. $1000 under invoice. You are falling short of this mark. By the way the dealer is not giving you a $500 cash incentive. He is just giving you $500-$600 below invoice. Clearly you could do better and there is no reason why that would change after July 5th.
Re: Best Lease Deal Out Now [Car_man]

Thanks for the reply Car_Man. I'm really flexible about the type of vehicle, but if I had to stick to one, it would probably be a 4 door sedan midsize-entry level luxury type car. I'm not pressed into buying immediately, so if something really jumps out as being a good deal, please post it. Also, what are your thoughts on the lease deals upcoming in November. I know its all just conjecture at this point, but all the recent news points to October as being one of the worst sales months in recent memory. Is this going to have an impact?
Best Lease Deal Out Now

Car_Man, what do you see as the best deal out there now regardless of vehicle type? I guess what I'm asking is which vehicles have the best combination of high residual value and low interest rate for 36 month leases with mileage of both 12k & 15k per year. Reading the boards it looks like it may be the Ridgeline?
