Does anyone actually pay for "protection" packages? My dealer wanted $895 for that garbage which amounted to about $50 worth of stuff from AutoZone.
Purchased 2007 Pilot EX-L 4WD with NAV for $32K
by ed108 on Mon Nov 27 11:08:54 PST 2006
Purchased for $32,000 + TTL which was about $500 below invoice. Probably could have gone a few hundred lower if I was willing to wait. In central Texas where I live, 4WD EX-L with NAV are hard to find apparently. I called every dealer within 70 miles and there were only 3 available between all of them last week. A couple said they'd dealer trade for me but since the closest vehicles were 400-500 miles away they'd charge me a delivery fee. So I figured $500 below invoice is decent and bought one. The same dealer where I purchased was willing to sell one without NAV for $30K + TTL. Doc fees were $45. I have read some of the other messages where people pay $300 doc fees. That is insane. A doc fee is pure profit for the dealer. This would be like going to Best Buy, buying a $2000 TV and then getting charged a $20 "Ringing you up at the cash register fee". Any time a dealer tells me there is a doc fee(or any other non-state/county mandated fee) for over $100 I walk out the door.

MF and residual Numbers
by ed108 on Fri Oct 06 12:59:47 PDT 2006
As best I can tell the MF and residuals for Accords are 24 Mo. Lease w/12K miles: 73% and .00227 36 Mo. Lease w/12K miles: 60% and .0023 Are these right? Seems like the 24 months is a much better proposition than the 36. This would be for an EX-V6. I called Honda finance and asked but they would not give me in the information. Thanks for any help.
Accord 2007 SE Auto in Nevada
by gerriberri on Mon Sep 04 21:11:07 PDT 2006
So far not having much luck with dealers here in Las Vegas, NV. Desert Honda was willing to make a great "deal" on a 2007 graphite color accord, ( I wanted white, but was willing to see what the deal was), was told it was leather interior, ( which it wasnt, later the salesperson denied saying it). Test drove the car and saw it had over 100 miles, along with various scratches, on the interior and exterior. Needless to say, I wasnt too thrilled with these people. Went to Findlay where I was quoted $23934.74 OTD( to buy today), otherwise $24688.53 OTD. After reading all the posts here, maybe they think they can take advantage because I am a woman. So. Does anybody have a dealership out here that they liked doing business with? And what do you think is the best price I can do on this car OTD, considering the fees here in Nevada? Thank you in advance.
2006 EX-L R+N - $32,699 - Las Vegas
by treefitee on Thu Feb 09 10:34:10 PST 2006
3 dealerships in Las Vegas all via Internet Department. Shack-Findlay was the easiest to deal with but they didn't have the right color. Honda West was very helpful and not too pushy. They were desperately trying to unload a few colors I didn't want and said they could come way down on a Touring. Desert Honda was HORRIBLE. Wouldn't give a quote via email or over the phone. Had to go by the dealership and still couldn't get a number after they appraised my trade. Awful service at Desert Honda. Honda West - Las Vegas, NV Silver EX-L Res + Nav Purchase Price $32,699 +Fees,Taxes, etc. - Trade-in and tax rebate. OTD - was around $35,xxx. No Add-ons or scotch guard or anything. Factory Fresh. Couldn't match the Honda Care from Bernardi, so I will probably purchase that in a few days. Was going to order it from the factory but they found one at the Alabama Assembly Plant and got that one for me. R+N are allegedly hard to come by in the EX-L model. Most people don't want the Nav. Silver was hard to get in Las Vegas as well. Many thanks to everyone that has posted in the forums. I also used the spreadsheets over at CarBuyingTips
