Re: 2009 Lease Rates [quantifire]

Carman, I'm looking for the 2009 Honda Accord Coupe EX-L both I-4 and V-6 lease numbers based on 15k mi/yr. There is still the 1,500 marketing support on the I-4 and 750 MS on the V-6. I would think the 36/mo term his Honda's sweet spot lease. Thanks
Colonial Honda - Chester VA - The Best!
by fayk on Tue Jun 02 15:31:53 PDT 2009
As stated in my earlier post, my daughter had an extremely negative interaction with Pohanka Honda of Fredericksburg. On 6-1-09, because my daughter sensed that the deal was slipping away with Pohanka, she began to contact several other dealerships in the Richmond area to see if they would negotiate a lower price closer to Pohanka's OTD of $16,500. One of the dealerships she contacted was Colonial Honda in Chester, VA which had offered $17,000 OTD. She spoke with Ms. K... G.... of the Internet division and asked if there was any flexibility in the price. KG called back 5 min later and said her manager wouldn't budge. Several hours later, KG called us back and asked if we had bought the car yet. KG said she had been pleading her case all day with the manager and he had finally agreed to come down to $16,900 OTD and the dealership had 3 atomic blue Civics for her to choose from. We immediately hopped into the car and drove to the dealership. My daughter put down over 1/2 of the car in cash! Pohanka's loss - Colonial's gain. Approximately an hour and a half after walking in the door of Colonial Honda (and being treated like a queen), my daughter drove home her beautiful new atomic blue 4DR AT LX Civic. Thanks to all those honest dealerships out there who make car buying a pleasure. Stick to their word, no pressure and a smile to make everything go easier. If you are looking for a Honda in the Richmond area, please consider Colonial Honda. :)
Avoid Pohanka Honda of Fredericksburg
by fayk on Tue Jun 02 15:08:06 PDT 2009
My 28 yr old daughter was buying her first car. She test drove the Elantra, Mazda3, Corolla and Civic. Once she decided on a LX 4dr sedan AT (atomic blue pearl) - we emailed 13 dealers in a 60 mile radius of Richmond, VA asking for an OTD of $17,000. We received offers from 11 dealers ranging from a low of $16,500 (Pohanka) to $17,500. After several conversations with the Internet salesperson (Ms.T.... G....) on 5-28/5-29, I was convinced this was a serious offer and was told by TG and her manager it was good until 6-1-09. On 6-1-09 at 9:30 a.m., my daughter called Pohanka, spoke with TG and said the deal was a go. We would be there in an hour and requested the VIN to give to the insurance company. After much paper shuffling, long pauses etc, my daughter was informed they didn't have the atomic blue in stock but Pohanka would be happy to sell her the LX-S in atomic blue - with an upcharge of course. Then she repeatedly pressured my daughter to buy another color. My daughter refused and asked if they could get her the color from another Pohanka dealership (and there are at least 3 others in the area) - there was a $385 transfer fee! Finally TG stated that "several transports" were due in on Monday and the dealership supposedly had 7 atomic blue LX civics coming in within the next 1-2 days. My daughter offered to wait the 1-2 days as long as the $16,500 offer wasn't withdrawn. After much hemming/hawing, TG stated she "thought" the deal would hold. I called TG, at 10:30 am asking about the status of the car. TG said she would speak to her manager and call me "right back." That was 36hrs ago and NO ONE from the dealership has yet to call back - despite three attempts by us to reach someone. Promises, promises from a dealership who clearly only wanted to get my daughter in the door and then either "upsell" her or pull a bait/switch. There are plenty of other dealerships in the area that are more upfront. Please beware of anything Pohanka tells you. Please see the next post to read the happy ending.
2009 Honda CRV EX-L FWD (No Navigation)
by twestbrook on Sun Apr 19 20:26:43 PDT 2009
On April 18, 2009, I purchased a 2009 Honda CRV EX-L FWD without Navigation. Since my purchase experience was aided by posts within this forum, I decided to take time to record my buying experience for the benefit of others who may visit this forum. I live in Jackson, MS and obtained email and telephone quotes from 11 dealers within 200 miles of Jackson - Wolfchase Honda in Memphis, Covington Honda outside New Orleans, Treadwell Honda in Mobile, Tameron Honda in Birmingham, Townsend Honda in Tuscaloosa, Richards Honda in Baton Rouge plus 5 MS dealerships. Covington Honda and Treadwell Honda had the best initial prices, quoting 23,997 and 24,000 respectively, which included the vehicle, destination and doc/dealer fees. Ultimately, a local Jackson dealership quoted me 23,951 including dealer installed wheel locks and F/R mud guards. The only other added costs were MS sales tax of 5% + 5 title fee and 5 inspection sticker. The dealer still made a little money, based on what I believe to be the underlying costs: Edmunds Dealer Cost of 24,899 minus 500 Honda Marketing Assistance minus 521 Dealer Holdback (2% of MSRP w/o destination) = 23,878 real cost versus 23,951 paid. The suggestion elsewhere in this forum to contact multiple dealers is a good idea. Ony two of the 11 dealers initially quoted "skinny deals" as they apparently call them in the car trade. Good luck on your purchase!

Hello mplshondadlr, Great that you participate in this forum. I really appreciate it. I don't think that I'm in the same boat as the person from Alabama (I hope) since I've been told otherwise from my dealer here in Mississippi. I have actually placed a small deposit (refundable anytime) on a 2009 EX 4WD auto that is supposed to be delivered within 45 days. I initially had a very bad sales experience with the internet manager that I escalated to Honda in Torrance, CA. This resulted in my ending up negotiating directly with the owner. He has indicated that the regional Honda rep will expedite my order in order to satisfy me as a customer and make up for the initial faux pas. After reading the post that stated no 2009's available until May got me worried. As you have access to info unavailable to us, would you mind checking to see if the same would hold true for MS - i.e. no deliveries until May? No slam on you as a dealer, but due to my experiences buying many cars and fleet vehicles, I'm somewhat dubious of car dealers and their promises. Best Regards, Pantherburn

I am a Honda dealer in the Minneapolis area. I did a quick search for a 2009 Element LX 4WD in my internal Honda locater for the following states: AL, TN, GA and MS. In the four states I found three. Wolfchase Honda of Bartlett, TN has two and Gerald Jones Honda of Martinez, GA has one. Just for fun I checked OK to see what they show in-stock. I found that Don Carlton Honda of Tulsa has one and Bob Howard of OK City has just one as well. Your local dealer is correct, no one in AL can deliver one until May.
