I'm not sure if this applies everywhere, because Honda offers different rates and programs for different areas of the country at different times. It may vary in your location.

Cross bars defined: by kentucky63 on Thu Apr 24 09:07:59 PDT 2003; On the EX Honda includes the roof rack bars that go down both sides of the top of the vehicle -- but charge extra for the cross bars. The roof rack is worthless (accept for aesthetics) without the cross bars. Thanks for telling me I did well, Steve. By the way, the dealer was Paul Moak Honda in Jackson, MS. This is going to be my first Honda -- I have had 4 wonderful Subarus before this. Unfortunately, Subaru does not make a minivan (but I'm keeping my Forester for our second vehicle).

I was not aware dealerships used loss leaders to attract customers. It would definetly be worthwhile to take a trip to Boston to buy my next Honda which may be soon. Thanks also for the suggestion to watch the Boston area dealer's advertising. I will check into that soon. Now if the dealers would run a special on a Pilot EX, it would be time to visit my relatives in the RI area. By the way, we did buy my sister the 2003 Accord LX AT from a Jackson, MS area dealer, but it was a struggle back and forth with the dealer's GM to get to the $18500. Oh well, she is very happy with the car. Happy Honda driving to all.

Don't Belive the Hype: by mewf4i on Sat Jun 08 17:52:27 PDT 2002; Ok.....like everyone else who owns a honda (and understands the quality the name brings) i ran to edmunds to see what the invoice price was, and was upset to see the 28,000 - 34,000 price. So i go to the message board, and as i suspected people are paying MSRP prices and prices over that amount. Why, Why, Why, i guess noone understands that what "WE, THE PEOPLE" are willing to pay is what the TMV is, and that if every yuppy took 2min. to understand that if "WE, THE PEOPLE" are only willing to pay invoice price plus 3% - realizing that the car buying industry is still making a killing @ that price - i wouldn't have to pay MSRP plus the inflated price that every yuppy ran out to buy no matter what the cost. By the way, i'm a yuppy too!
