Car_man or others, I know we switched months, not sure if incentives changed (i've noticed a few inconsistencies reading the posts from April and May). Could someone give us folks that are currently in the market a quick run down. Personally I am looking for the following Money factor, residual on the following models for 36mo 12K lease (im in MI) EX-L EX-L RES Also can you clarify the pricing and what incentives can be applied to a lease. In other words, what target prices should we be going after. thanks J
Honda Fit vibe, etc..
by jfritsch on Mon May 05 03:44:00 PDT 2008
Just bought a 08 mazda3 5 door hatch coupe auto with alloys, abs etc for friend for for 16600 + tax and title (msrp 19500). 08 mazda5 auto (sliding side door) about the same. Purchased last few days of the month. Pontiac vibe 08 (toyota matrix) hatchback auto prices were about 15000, and the 09 vibe is in the 17000's soon to be probably around 16000s. This has gm's 100k mi powertrain warranty. Nissan dealers were beating down the door to sell the 5 door hatch Versa 16400 msrp sl for 14800, and the s with pwr and auto for 13600. It is a quality piece. There is no comparison between the Mazda3 and Fit for performance and style. If you have the hots for 10-15% or more luggage capacity and that turns you on, the Vibe, versa, and mazda5 amongst others will fill the bill as good if not better, some for almost $2000 less and with more selection. Once you get into the Hyundai accent auto (2 dr hatch) you are 3500+ less than the Fit, or the Tuscon (Santa Fe's little brother) you are about $1000 or so more, with the 100k/60k warranty. Checked the Fit out and such and drove it, just to see what all the hubbubb was about. Quality vehicle no doubt but could not believe people would genuflect for near msrp (16700? ) for this simple little common hatch. Good luck --jjf
Please show me a calculation
by bg1811 on Sun May 04 13:27:22 PDT 2008
I'm having trouble understanding the terms, so, can somebody give me an example, using the lease figures, for a price of $23,000, 10,000 mi per year on a 36 month lease. I don't understand what you plug in to come up with the number. Also where is the lease calculator located on the web? Thanks in advance, I posted a similar request on the Ford Edge discussion, but, not responses.
Re: 2008 Pilot EX price [skipperskid]

I'm waiting to see if Honda announces new May incentives over the next day or so before buying. I spoke to a Philly dealer just now and he said that once the '09s are out (i.e. sometime this month), Honda will pull dealer cash and the dealers will be on their own to provide incentives to potential Pilot buyers -- that all seems a bit odd for two reasons: (1) the expiration on Honda incentives are typically found right on the announcement (http://automobiles.honda.com/current-offers.aspx) -- you will also notice a disconnect between what Honda says the incentives are and what Edmunds says the incentives are (http://www.edmunds.com/new/2008/honda/pilot/100891109/incentives.html) (i.e. the $2500 in dealer cash through May is noted by Edmunds, but not Honda). (2) On cars.com, I counted about 70 EXLs without NAVI/RES in the Philadelphia area (30 mi radius around a Philly zip) -- if '09s are rolling on the lots early this month, do they really expect to clear the '08s without, at a minimum, maintaining the current incentives. One more thing, as I'm writing this post, a Jersey Honda dealer just called and offered $27417, including destination, with special financing

In the Honda MFG site, you can view the NATIONAL & REGIONAL Special Leasing offers. All the offers on different Honda models are available there. It allows you to view details & print out a certificate to bring to Honda dealers. This way you don't need to negotiate any, can choose your favorite colors in & out (offer is good for EVERY vehicle under same Model# & MSRP) which is better than specials restricted to 1 to 2 car only on newspaper ad. Plus saw ad. promotion that a honda dealership advertised guarantee 120% KBB fair value Trade-In, this 120% is about = the Excellent Trade in value, that most dealership won't pay as high as figure in Excellent condition. Based on my regional offer ($259 vs $279/mo.), ONLY TO RESIDENTS OF: CT, DE, IL, IN, KY, MA, ME, MI, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, VT & WV I just leased 08 AWD VP 3yrs/12K mi at $259/mo., $2499 due at signing, (1645 cap cost/down, 595 acqu fee, 259 1st payment) http://automobiles.honda.com/current-offers.aspx?ModelName=Pilot
