Re: Quotes re'd for 08 Accord EX i4 sedan Blue Pearl [r0yalty]

I think the way Boch supports their $20,488 price is to force customers to accept THEIR financing arrangements. Must make $ thru financing. They do pay cash for all their inventory and do deals that may be hard to beat. Went back to Kelly Honda in Lynn,Ma., my local dealer. First and final offer was $21,600 +tax and doc fee w/o trade. Offered $4100 for my "96 EX 5M. $ 17,500 w/trade. Tried to get them to throw in a moon roof sheild...anything. No go. GM said no. Would not move at all. Think $4100 was good for my 77K "96. Low but hard city miles and 5 speed manual tranny not desirable. Malibu dealer offered only $3100 + $20450 for half the car that the EX Honda is !. No way! Decided to accept. Still $656 under invoice. Got wheel locks (but all new autos here get them), some free oil changes and free lifetime car washes. Also got the 0.9% financing. Black on Black. Think I'll need those free car washes. Looks like a limo, drives like a Honda! Final cost= $17,500 (w/trade) +$875 mass tax and $249 doc fee. How did I do? Thanks all for your valuable info.

All, I was in Kelly Honda in Lynn, MA this past week in order to get some service work done on my 2000 Odyssey. I overheard their daily sales meeting and they said that no sales person has hit quota or is on track to hit quota for the month of February and for the first quarter of 2008. The housing slump and the notion of a possible recession is definitely starting to factor into people's large purchasing decisions. So my opinion is that Honda will have to continue to offer financial incentives to the dealer / to the customer to move product. The reason there is a deadline to the current specials is that it is meant to motivate action to buy. There will be more dealing in March so I wouldn't get hung up on a few days if you're on the fence. Good luck.
Which MA Dealers?

Which Massachusetts dealers are you folks using? I don't have time to be driving all over the place chasing deals and Honda Barn in North Reading, Commonwealth in Lawrence and Kelly in Lynn all don't seem too interested in conducting business via email. Thanks!

The Lynn area Honda Dealer was offering $28,400 during the President's Day sale when the dealer cash was $1500 so you should have no problem getting it for less than 28K. I bought a 07 AWD EX-L NAV at that time for 30,400 with the special financing.
2006 Accord LX 4dr AT (I4) and 2006 Civic LX 4dr AT
by eva1214 on Fri Jul 07 08:15:07 PDT 2006
We're in the Boston area and we would like to share our best prices with everyone. Prices include destination fees. 2006 Honda Accord LX AT 4dr (I4) $16,888 + TTL = $18,050 OTD Herb Chambers in Boston, MA 2006 Honda Civic LX AT 4dr $16,300 + TTL = $17,404 OTD Kelly Honda in Lynn, MA *worked very hard to get this price I'd like to think those are good prices. We bought the Accord and we are very happy with it. It seemed to be a better value and the true cost to own does not appear to be very different compared to the Civic according to Edmunds.
$13K for Accord - BUT how do I get Air Conditioning?
by bostonoriole on Thu Feb 06 09:43:44 PST 2003
Dealers in this area are advertising around 13K for Honda DX 5 SPD with no air conditioning. A salesman told me that I could by the car for $13K and then get a new A/C installed for $1200. Do you think that is possible? Do dealer installed A/C units have any concerns for quality? Do you think this is a good deal?
