Trigger pulled! :D I bought from Criswell Honda in Germantown MD. The price was what they said, no tricks or gimmicks. I added mud flaps and the moonroof visor for $316.99 total. My wife and I are heading back later so she can sign and then we can both get the instructions on the car. They were able to give me a better rate than my credit union and I went with the bumper to bumper "disappearing deductible" extended warranty. It was a little more than the one I was going to get but my overall payments are still a little less. Thanks for everyone's help.

I'm going in tomorrow morning to seal the deal. Herson's got back to me too late with a $30,000 offer (including freight). I didn't appreciate how on the phone they said they'd do $29,801 then faxed me a quote adding freight to that early in the week. Guy up in Baltimore said that's BS as invoice always includes freight and should never be listed separate. Yeah, it's makes more sense to take the $2K cash and use your own financing. You pay less. I'm getting 4.74% from SECU of MD (www.secumd.org). If you meet their membership requirements (SECU), including attending certain MD schools, you can join and get a good rate. Here's a good loan calculator to compare special financing to cash back. Use the $1,000 rebate for the reduced-rate financing column.
4dr EX-L v6 w/Nav & Selected Options in MD
by birdsofprey02 on Wed May 07 20:03:24 PDT 2008
I am looking to get an EX-L v6 W/Nav in Md region. Looking for black ext/ black int. However, there are a few options that I need to consider. I'm not a big fan of the stock accord rims so I want the 18" painted alloys. I also want the rear wing spoiler, all-weather mats, and trunk mat (maybe), and possibly the blue illumination. My question is, what kind of prices shall I be paying for the options assuming I find the base model I am looking for on a lot? Is the MSRP on Honda's website a great indicator? Do the accessories I am interested get installed at the dealership? I see that the wheel locks are listed as $55 on the site but yet some pay over $80 for them? Just trying to figure out how the accessories work. From research the invoice is 27,403 for base model and the MSRP on the accessories I chose was $3072. I am trying to figure out how much I will need to finance, etc. What should I aim for in negotiating with the taxes (6%), dest charges, etc. added in. Thanks, Mike
Accord Sedan EX-L V6 with Navi
by iwanthonda on Tue May 06 21:35:42 PDT 2008
I'm in the MD area and I've been shopping around for a sedan EX-L V6 with Navi (MSRP $30,260 w/o dest). At the end of last month, I thought I had a solid quote for a dealer exchange to get the color I wanted for $27,300 (including the $635 destination fee, $99 processing fee, wheel locks, and splash guards) plus TTL. However, as soon as I started talking accessories, the conversation soured and everything pretty much blew up in my face. I was told to wait the following day to get the general sales manager's approval, but once I let it go into this month, it seemed like the deal just vanished into thin air. My only remaining option (which is still available now) is to accept the color on the lot for the $27,300 price tag, or pay a ridiculous $1,000 more to get the color I want (from either a dealer exchange or factory order). Since I don't feel like settling for the available color, am I still delusional to think that this deal will again become realistic once it reaches the end of this month? I have been told at different times that my quoted price reflects a $60, $110, and $300 profit for the dealership, so I don't know what to believe. I really want a specific color in this car, but I don't know if I'm going to have to pay an arm and a leg for it. Anyone have any advice?

Ok, I made the 45 min (plus since I overshot the turn) trip to Jim Coleman. You're right, they won't do it for that. :( He claims his manager who approved the deal was looking at the wrong car. So, instead he presents me with this offer: Invoice $32,420 Freight 635 Honda Advertising 100 Options @ cost 894 (incl. wheel locks which I think are usually thrown in) Total $34,049 Profit 450 Total $34,499 Rebate Process fee 100 Taxable total $32,399 Meanwhile, on the way up the guy from Herson's in Rockville called me and I mentioned the $28k figure I thought I was getting. He gets back to me and says he can't do it for that, but can do it for $1,800 more at $29,800. I got him to fax me a quote and he was good to his word. The guy at Coleman claimed there was "no way" Herson's could sell it for that price. My dad put me in touch with his salesman at Northwest Honda in Owings Mills MD and he offered the same deal *including* freight. Is it true there is no additional dealer holdback? Both the guy from Coleman and Northwest told me they are passing this on to the buyer and there is no factory rebate. That appears accurate when I re-read the incentive details on edmunds.

pencils2 - FWIW, back in 12/28/07, Tim Pohanka of Pohanka Honda in Marlow Heights offered me $23,200 OTD for a 2WD CR-V EX, in the DC/VA/MD metro area. He had mistakenly thought that I was looking for a 2WD instead of 4WD EX even though all my emails clearly listed out that I was looking for a 4WD EX! :P Not sure if you're still in the market but here in the DC metro area, 2WD CR-V's are fairly uncommon since most of the ones sold are EX and EX-L's in 4WD configuration. Good luck!
