Tidester, I will write a report in Dealer Rating and Reviews after my 2nd purchase at Sports Honda of Silver Spring, MD. This coming week, I will get a check from my insurance for the totalled 2008 CR-V EX AWD. Just want to get my loan paid off before I get another one. Thanks.

FYI-- I helped my father buy a new 2008 Accord LX-Auto in the DC area in mid-June. The price came to be $19015 for the car ( includes destination ) PLUS--Processing 89, VA Tax 3% and Vehicle registration/plates 128. Grand total $19806 along with 2.9% AHFC for 60 months. KEY STEPS IN THE PROCESS: I first emailed the individual dealer web sales people or got automated quotes from their websites on the first two days. Then I emailed OR called some of the sales folks who responded. In my email I said I am looking for the lowest price as it is the end of the model year and threw out a lowball number 18500 Plus Tax and Tags only. Then I called and got a few to price match since I had quotes in my email in-box. (AUTOMATED QUOTES FROM DEALERS ARE THE BEST FOR THIS) Final step was to go to the dealer in person on the 3rd day and see if the cars offered had an "Appearance Package" which most of the low offers did. But I was clear that I did not want that then either they said they could drop it or could not. So I learned that :shades: this is the key question to ask when talking about low price offers. Finally, on day 4, I received a simple email from Sport Honda In Silver Spring MD and I called the rep immediately. Since I already knew what the lowest prices were that week due to my emails, I told her I was at the tail end of the process and I was looking for the best deal and looking to conclude that day. She gave me the best price and confirmed that there was no appearance package on the car along with my desired color, all on the phone. I said I already had financing from Navy Federal and NO trade in (SIMPLIFY THINGS FOR YOURSELF SINCE ALL THESE DEALS HAVE VARIOUS MOVING PARTS) In the end I spoke to her respectfully and made clear I was PRICE SHOPPING and she treated me with respect as well knowing it was a quick purchase. Now obviously the manager has the final say but I did not need to go that far b/c the numbers were to my liking. We were in there for about 2 hours picking up the car. Finance guy was very nice, no hard sell at all and we ended up applying for and received 2.9% AHFC Financing and were done with it.

Big ups to all the posters who helped me get the deal I wanted especially lillypad2000. Silver w/Grey Leather EX-L 4WD for $28,500.01 with 2.9% financing for 60 months from American Honda Finance. Purchased from Sport Honda in Silver Spring, MD. Worked with their Internet Sales Consultant (can't post her name here but she is great and shares a first name with Tina Turner) a rare straight shooter in a crooked trade. Negotiated the whole deal by email, other dealers told me the deal was impossible and that Sport Honda would only sell me a 2WD at that price or suddenly pull $1000 in incentives. Went into the Sport Honda dealership this evening and the whole deal went down without a hitch. A happy man!

If you just need an email quote for price match, I'd recommend you to get one from Ourisman Laurel (http://www.laurelhonda.com/). You can get an email quote off their website. They will send you a detailed email with the Sale price of $26756.85 (includes dest but excludes TTL) Ourisman will not sell you at this price as they will add around 1K for dealer installed accessories. Herson's Honda in Rockville MD and Sport Honda in Silver Spring MD were ready to match Ourisman's price. Hope this helps.

Hey gang, We finally bought our Cherry Red 08 EX-L AWD last night. Sport Honda in Silver Spring, MD. $26,182 (car only). I finalized the price over the phone and went in for a quick drive and paperwork. The dealer is relatively small but the experience was great. No pressure, no appearance package, no one even brought up crap like paint protection. Complete 180 from my nightmare at Landmark Honda (classic bait and switch). Let me know if you want the name of the sales guys, the one to find and the one to avoid. Actually, I'd avoid Landmark altogether. Google their name and all the horror stories are true. Just Purchased EX-L with RES(DVD)

I have read several post from people who went to Sport Honda in Silver Spring MD and got a great price. Well it is true. I was able to purchase an 08 Odyssey EX-L with RES for $28689(including freight) + $89 doc fee + tax and tags($30700 on the road). I am not sure how much longer the $2000 dealer incentive will last or if they will increase or decrease it but the salesman played no games and started his pricing invoice minus incentives and then it was up to me to squeeze a little more into their holdback. If anyone is interested I can email the name of my salesman. He was very low key and thorough. My email is april15@verizon.net. I also agree with all the post concerning Honda's extended Warranty from Barrardi in Mass. I went to their website and called them and got the best price anywhere on the 8yr/120,000. Highly reccommend.
