EX-L w/ DVD in PHL.
by belangee on Fri Jul 18 19:56:18 PDT 2008
Howdy, Just got my new blue '08 EX-L w/DVD. MSRP: 34,445. Net Price $28,295. OTD (TTL Inc.) 30,158.65. (PA tax is 6%) No trade in, Cash deal (No Honda Financing), delivery from Dealer stock. Conicelli Honda, but I had three other PHL metro dealers within $100 of that Net Price. Once I got below $28.5K, I found that dealers didn't want to go lower without written quotes from another dealer, then they'd either match-- or beat by $100 or so. I'd heard that dealer incentives were going to be static on the Ody's until Sept, so I might have saved a couple hundred by waiting until after the model year- but the vehicle I'm replacing started acting funny. I did have a lower internet price quote from the folks down in Laurel, MD. (see other threads), but upon reading/listening to comments posted, decided not to risk them. Was in and out of the dealer in 60 Min. 45 Minutes of that was a show and tell of the Ody's features. 15 minutes in "the back", went very smoothly. They mentioned the extended warranty, but didn't do the hard sell. Didn't push the dealer accessories. (Wheel locks were included, but a full tank of gas wasn't.) Looking forward to driving it. Best of luck shopping.

For all customers looking to do business with Ourisman Honda in Laurel, MD: ======================================================== I strongly advise you to stay away from this dealership. They are dishonest crooks. The dealer has seen my notice on this board. Since this forum is for customers like you and me who are in the market to buy a car, the dealership is now trying to discredit me by stating that i am incompetent and did not do my research. I did a very thorough research. The dealer went back on his word!!!!! The managment running this dealership are a bunch of crooks. The tactics they used are dispicable. I would sincerely advise anyone who is thinking of buying a Honda car from this dealership to stay away from this dealership. You are better off going to another Honda dealership. Sincerely, apollo
08 Honda Odyssey, Ourisman Honda and Volkswagen in Laurel, Maryland

I went to Ourisman Honda and Volkswagen dealer in Laurel, MD. They are a very dishonest Honda dealer. I would recommend everyone to stay away from them. I have been on the phone weeks talking with Erick( the sales rep) for a 08 Honda Odyssey EX-L with DVD and NAV. Erick and i had a verbal commitment on the price of the car. Infact, i had asked Erick to send me in an email, the prices for each item that they would charge to drive the car out of the Lot. Erick always refused to provide me with something in an email. He always said to me to come to the dealership, and he guaranteed to me that i would get a much better deal than another dealer. Erick infact agreed to beat the quote that i had received from Jim Coleman Honda in Clarksville,MD for a 08 odyssey EX-L by $200 what they were charging for just the cost of the car. After Erick gave me his verbal commitment on the price, Erick's boss, Steve Cole, called me on the phone and went over the prices for the items that Ourisman Honda would charge me. They both agreed to sell me the 08 Odyssey EX-L with a DVD and NAV for $28,184. They agreed to charge, $635 for freight, 6% MD sales tax, 2 years Tags for $222, and a $100 processing fee. I live 45 minutes from the Dealership. So, after i make the trip to the dealership at the agreed appointment time, Erick is too busy with another customer. Steve doesn't even bother to talk to us. They send ,Ryan, another salesman who has no idea what Erick and Steve had agreed on with me. I mentioned to Ryan that we had driven 45 miles and were ready to close the deal on an odyssey. Instead, Ryan starts taking me to the lot to show their odyssey's. He had no clue of the Odyssey's that I was interested in. Ryan comes back with a quote of $32,800 with an $1599 appearance package, after talking with Steve Cole, the manager, when Steve and i had agreed on a Total Final Price of $30,888 without any appearance package charge during our phone conversations. When i ask Ryan to bring Erick or Steve over, he refuses and mentions to me that they are both busy and can not come over. He also mentions to me that they both don't remember ever mentioning the price that i am quoting to him. I was so furious that i drove 45 minutes for nothing. I wish Erick and Steve had mentioned to me that they can not offer the 08 odyssey EX-L with DVD and NAV for that price before i had driven 45 minutes to make the trip to Laurel, MD. I recommend to anyone who is thinking of buying a Honda car from Ourisman Honda and Volkswagen in Laurel, Maryland to stay away from this dealership. They are very dishonest and are cheats. They will tell you one thing over the phone and when you get their the salesman is rude and starts acting smart with the customer. Hope this helps someone who is thinking of buying a car from this dealership. I had a bad experience with them. apollo

These seem high to me. I bought my car in MD (Live in VA) and I think you can do better. Did you try Laurel Honda? I think there is one dealer in VA (somewhere near Manassas?) and I read that someone got a great deal from them as well.

Just bought 2008 EXL from AutoPark Honda for $27800 OTD - no trade in. Used Donkey punch method to get quotes in both MD and NC. Used Laurel Honda quote to get match in Charlotte area, then Charlotte area quote to get price in RTP. Leith/Autopark/Sanford/Crown Greensboro all said they would match/beat. Crown Southpoint said it was couple hundred too low for them. Buying process was great, very low pressure pitch for all the extra warranty/protection items. May have left a few hundred on the table as probably could have pitted Greensboro/Sanford dealers against RTP dealers, but overall am satisfied with the price. Low rate financing was never mentioned and some of the dealers explicitly said it expired at the end of Feb, so must be a regional thing.
