Re: Honda Pilot SE Lease [steelernation]
by dwynne on Fri May 09 15:35:02 PDT 2008
You may be out of your mind :D . The only states with discount lease rates on the Pilot are AK, CA, CT, DE, HI, ID, MA, ME, MT, ND, NH, NJ, NY, OR, PA, RI, SD, VT, WA AND WY. If you don't live in one of those the rate is quite high. If you do live in one of those states the rates are decent, but not nearly as good as rates were in the past. The VP lease example for those states shows $259 per month not including tax with a $1,645 cap cost reduction. Without the cap cost reduction the payment would rise to $310-320 or so not including tax. Depending on where you live and how tax is levied on a lease you could probably do a VP for your desired payment. Note that the lease as listed has a good bit of dealer profit you could negotiate down for a better deal. The SE is more expensive so would make the payment that much higher. Without knowing your state I could not say more, but if you live in a state without the discounted rate you will need to just buy the Pilot or get a cheaper model. Even with the discounted rate the SE may be more money than you want to spend. Dennis
May REGIONAL Pilot special lease deals
by dwynne on Fri May 02 17:10:59 PDT 2008
REGIONAL FEATURED SPECIAL LEASE: Available only to residents of: AK, CA, CT, DE, HI, ID, MA, ME, MT, ND, NH, NJ, NY, OR, PA, RI, SD, VT, WA AND WY I put in a NY zip code and ran the numbers through my handy-dandy lease MF solver and they are doing 0.00123 (2.95%) and 49% on the 2WD VP and 0.00140 (3.36%) and 52% on the 4WD VP. That is way more than the 1% or 1/3% they were doing previously. In the online special they are pricing the 2WD Pilot at $23,595.22 and invoice is $25,710 so it is $2,117.78 under invoice as they show it. The dealer incentive is $2,500 on this model, so this leaves 100% of hold back and $382.22 profit. If you don't live in one of the states listed, you can expect a rate like 0.00250 or something not good. Dennis
Pilots Current Offers

In the Honda MFG site, you can view the NATIONAL & REGIONAL Special Leasing offers. All the offers on different Honda models are available there. It allows you to view details & print out a certificate to bring to Honda dealers. This way you don't need to negotiate any, can choose your favorite colors in & out (offer is good for EVERY vehicle under same Model# & MSRP) which is better than specials restricted to 1 to 2 car only on newspaper ad. Plus saw ad. promotion that a honda dealership advertised guarantee 120% KBB fair value Trade-In, this 120% is about = the Excellent Trade in value, that most dealership won't pay as high as figure in Excellent condition. Based on my regional offer ($259 vs $279/mo.), ONLY TO RESIDENTS OF: CT, DE, IL, IN, KY, MA, ME, MI, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, VT & WV I just leased 08 AWD VP 3yrs/12K mi at $259/mo., $2499 due at signing, (1645 cap cost/down, 595 acqu fee, 259 1st payment) http://automobiles.honda.com/current-offers.aspx?ModelName=Pilot

Oh, believe me I'm not offended at all! But thanks for checking. It's no secrect that I'm obviously a "rookie" when it comes to "dealing with the sales sharks" at the dealer. That's why I posted, to see what people who have experience negotiating prices thought. Oh and YES I was "puffing" to get the best price. But I did read in this forum about a "$2500.00 dealer hold back or something to that effect. Since you know how to "do it in a way that gives me credibility", TELL ME PLEASE!
Re: 2008 Accord Sedan EX-L V-6 w/NAV in NJ [twotonetommy]
by mplshondadlr on Fri Apr 18 08:15:06 PDT 2008
Our invoice (adjusted after co-op advertising) is $26251.00. My boss wont let me sell them for less then $26000.00. Most dealers are pretty close to the same. The Accord market seems kinda stale here. THIS IS NOT AN OFFER TO SELL. DO NOT EMAIL ME ASKING TO BUY AS I WILL NOT RESPOND. I AM SIMPLY SHARING A PRICE. Our hosts here are very serious about enforcing some rules and I really dont want to be flagged again.
The 2009 Pilot
by dwynne on Tue Apr 15 13:15:01 PDT 2008
in all is glory, or ugliness, depending on your tastes. Here at the Honda web site I don't see or read about enough improvements that would make ME want to wait for it to arrive and pay MSRP (or close) when I would have the "old" Pilot for $2,500-$3,500 under invoice with cheap financing optional. 3" longer, larger interior volume, a bit more power and torque, VCM now on 4WD Pilots as well as 2WD, about the same MPGs, etc. Old design = bugs worked out long ago = more reliability long term. New design = all new bugs and you get to help with the "research" :D . Still, if it floats your boat it should be available at a dealership near you next month. Honda has targeting selling more "09" Pilots than they sold in 2007 (which was a down year). The only way that happens is due to the long selling year (May of 08 to Aug/Sept of 09) or if down the road they drop some serious deals on these. Dennis
