Where To Buy In Kentucky?????: by sammyslab on Fri Jun 20 17:39:10 PDT 2008; I just came from Valentine Honda in Richmond, KY. I had agreed to buy an LX for $1 over invoice. When I went there to pick the car up (new 2008 Civic LX), they had added $995 worth of "nothings" onto the MSRP plus $490 worth of dealer fees. I had never heard of this and walked away from the deal. A basic LX would have cost $18,800+ OTD. It seemed too much for a run of the mill LX with no nav. Any thoughts? Thanks,,,, Sammy

I compared prices across about 15 dealers in south central KY (Lexington, Richmond, Somerset, etc) and eastern TN (Knoxville, Chattanooga, etc). Ultimately, I ended up purchasing from West Side Honda in Knoxville. Not only did they have the best price, but their service was great as well. Internet Sales Manager was easy to deal with and very straight forward. Here is the deal I got. On June 30 34100.50 - Vehicle(incl 595 dest charge) 1310.00 - Honda Care(6yr 120,000miles, $0 deductible) 299.00 - Tire & Wheel Protection(5yr) 399.50 - Doc prep(T&L) 2417.94 - Tax 5.50 - TN fee for some BS like battery or tire --------- 38532.44 - OTD (incl protection package, cargo tray, wheel locks, mud flaps, pin stripe) Good luck, Ed

Generally speaking the 1st quote is not the best quote, and I'm thinking they'll do better. Quite surprised Performance Honda didn't want to play the game. JJF, see that you are in Cincy and have learned a lot from your posts. I am really interested in what you think of Cincy market and where I might get the best bang for my buck? I am also getting quote from guy at Sam Swope in Richmond KY but he seems fishy as says he'll go $2K under best internet quote but all phone contact and he hasn't committed it to writing on the internet. Don't mind driving the 2 hrs. for a great deal but don't want to drive to Richmond if he's not going to honor the deal once I get there. Also got quotes from Superior and Honda East who were $300 and $886 over the best quote of $28,273. Thanks for your help.

Just sealed deal on touring R&N: by e28m5 on Fri Feb 25 09:57:27 PST 2005; I appreciate everyone's posts here, they helped me get a pretty good deal on a touring R&N. I emailed about 10 dealers w/in 2 hours of me (Lexington, KY). I had determined there were maybe 2 black (the only color I wanted) T R&N's w/in this radius. My local dealer (Don Jacobs) didn't have one, and as is typical couldn't tell me exactly when/if they could get one until I put some money down. I needed the car asap, so that wouldn't do. Got one quote from the Cinci area for 36180, but they also didn't have one. Luckily, Swope in Richmond KY (obviously affiliated w/ the oft-mentioned Swope in Louisiville) had the car and matched the Cinci offer. I countered and we got it down to 35960, which after the invoice increase would be approx 800 over invoice. I have followed cccompson's posts on the fantastic NE Ohio deals, but didn't mind paying a bit more for a local delivery. I think this is pretty good as my inventory searches turned up very few T R&N's, and even fewer in black. Plus they offer a free 10 yr/100k powertrain warranty (if serviced by them), free washes, 10% discount on accessories, etc. Very easy, no bull sales process via email. Should take delivery tonight.
