Buying a car from a Honda Car Dealer
I am sorry, I totally missed this thread, I am not sure how...so I don't know if you will get this or not, but we almost bought from Tiffany Springs Honda in the northland, but for convenience purposes (we had to go Topeka that evening and were running out of time) we ended up getting the car at Sharp Honda in Topeka. The whole deal was quick and simple, but I am sure Tiffany Springs would have been great to deal with too, we just ran out of time. As far as the sales tax, I just meant that since you don't pay sales tax at the dealership in MO that it wouldn't be included in the final price like in KS. If you happen to get this and haven't already bought one, let me know if you have anymore questions.
After several days of weighing the pros and cons of a 2005 EX V6 sedan against the pros and cons of a 2006 EX V6 sedan, I decided that the lower purchase price and immediate availability were most important. Visited several Kansas City dealers, couldn't get a solid idea of what they could do on price. Didn't want to sit in someone's office doing the back and forth... Telephoned Schofield Honda in Wichita -responsive folks, aggressive on price even though I had not committed to a purchase. Telephoned Topeka and Manhatten (KS) too - did not like their color choices. Telephoned Roper Honda in Joplin at 3:30 pm on Aug 27, and in just 15 minutes, I bought a new 2005 graphite EX V6 sedan for 23695. This includes the 550 destination fee and their 95 dealer doc fee. Also included 'mud' flaps and wheelwell protectors. Picked the car up on 8-30, total time at Roper was a little more than an hour - primarily to complete the financing through American Honda Finance, via Roper Honda. And yes, AHF is offering 2.9, 3.9 and 4.9 through Sept. 6. Bottom line - We love the car. Also, great folks at Roper, it was a pleasure to do business there and we will happily travel the 140 miles (one way) to do business with them again.
Thanks to this site I was armed with information. I received a verbal quote from a Kansas City dealership after some negotiations with the only local dealership. I offered them invoice with KBB trade-in value allowance on a 2001 Subaru Outback LL Bean with 74K. Was about $1K off and I told them I would go to KC and they took it. Fortunately, it was icy, with moderate snow and temps in the teens. They weren't busy and wanted to sell a car. Probably could have got $500 under invoice in KC, but am satisfied considering our small market and I kept the dollars at home. Invoice: $29402 Trade-In: $11,250 2.9%/5 years
The dealer is in Topeka Ks. They did give me the price right around the price anyway from curry the one online. I showed them the site and they gave me a great price on the extended warranty. It was around 100 higher but they got me in at 3.49% financing I didn't want to mess with the online one when this one was close to the price and also I could finance it in with my payment. I really had no more money to be out on one. Brent
My dealer in the Topeka Ks. area won't budge they are trying to sell it for $1750 I was just wondering has anyone bought that extended warranty from curryhodacare.com. I would hate to buy it there have it mailed to me and not be able to use it at my dealer. Doesn't honda just offer the honda care warranty wouldn't they all be the same? Brent
