Buying a car from a Honda Car Dealer
In KS? Which dealership? I am in Iowa and won't mind driving it to KC. Sounds like you got a great deal!
Just bought 2011 Honda Odyessey EX L (without res/nav) 33,411 with free mats 149 admin fee With honda financing 1.9% APR.
I would expect the 2012 model to be identical in sticker price, maybe $100-$300 higher. This is a total guess. But, whatever the 2012 price might be, I would think that there is no way that the negotiated price for 2012 can be worse than what we are currently seeing for 2011 models. Again, this is a total guess. If you do not HAVE to buy the car now, why not wait 2-3 months to buy next year's model. Better for resale value for sure, and probably better negotiated price with dealer.
I am curious...will there be a price difference between the 2011 and the 2012? We want the great financing they offer right now and it ends in September and the dealers here have told me that they won't get 2012 till October. I am wondering if we should get the exact one we want that one dealer is getting in a few weeks or wait for the 2012...any advice??
Tartary, Here in NJ, your $33,611 price would be considered a good price these days for EX-L. I recently shopped around (via email) bunch of nearby dealers for EX-L (no options), and I found that $33,600-$33,800 were the good prices. I ended up buying (put down a $500 deposit for end of Aug delivery) from a dealer that offered $33,000 for Smokey Topaz. Not sure why his price is $600+ lower than any other dealers, but I took the plunge. Hopefully there will be no surprises when I go into the dealership to sign the papers and pickup the car. If you can wait 2-3 months, I'd suggest you wait for the 2012 model when inventory improves and you can negotiate a better price.
