I shopped around with different working with various internet managers until I got this deal. I feel I did pretty good, all things considered.

Wait for Oct.: by oddyhunt on Sat Sep 27 20:11:41 PDT 2008; I pulled the trigger today on an EXL (no nav/res) after much shopping and reading on here - thanks to all - really helps the confidence - all you have to do is tell the dealer you're reading this forum and they instantly have a look of defeat in their eyes..lol. Decided I couldn't justify the factory DVD on the RES when I can have one installed by a car audio specialty place here with a 3 yr warranty for $500 less -I bought in Kansas City (Frank Ancona Honda) - no pressure dealer - straight shooter sales manager: Only extra was the wheel locks which were already on it - $26,136 (incl all fees) + TTL only. They had a ton of EXL's in stock (like 20) so let me know if you need my dealer name but I pretty much dealt directly with the sales mgr which was nice instead of passing notes back and forth via the helpless sales guy like other places. I wanted silver and they only had one left so I bought, but I think if you don't care on color you could easily get down to $25.5k next month. In this economy how can they raise prices (or take away financing). The Oklahoma Dealer that dol007 in an earlier post was very nice and was at $25.8 but for us that's 5 hrs away - not worth the gas/time for $300. Also Holmes Honda in Des Moines IA said he could get to $26,050 but again not worth $90 less to drive & waste 3 hrs driving. Good luck to all -

I outlined in the previous post that it was Holmes Honda in Des Moines, IA. Do a quick google search to find their web page and contact info. You could even go as far to say that you have family in Des Moines that would purchase the car and ship/drive it out to you if the price difference is that dramatic. I don't know how much it costs to ship a vehicle, but I don't think it would be more than $200 or so. Worth a shot at least. Good luck!

I had to haggle with them to get 4.8%, and even that was a stretch. I might call and complain. See if they can do anything for me. I haven't felt any buyer remorse until right now. I loved the price I paid, but that financing would be so much nicer. They also mention something about a gift card with purchase. Beware the "snake oil" at finance time!!!: by joeyjoejoe on Fri Mar 07 13:58:25 PST 2008; I've seen a couple of people mention the rust-proofing, paint sealant, interior coating......whatever, that eventually comes up when finalizing the finances. Just be sure to take a moment to actually calculate how much those extras are going to cost you. My finance person, like most, was trying to get me to roll them up as a package into the car loan. I went in knowing I could get better deals on the extended warranties, but was a little taken aback by the other intriguing extras. They try to cover the true cost of the product by adding "just and extra $10 a month" to your loan payment. Compound that over the life of your loan and...gasp...that rust-proofing will cost you like $700! Save the money and have another shop do it for you for half (if not more) as much. That's even if you really actually need these "snake oil" extras. Debatable if you ask me. Cheers!
