Pullted trigger on Honda Pilot EX-L w/Navigation

Bought a Honda Pilot EX-L with Navigation 4WD 2008 model. Billet Silver. No extras. Price: 28,400. Doc Fee: 150 Taxes: 2143 Title and Registration: 168 Total: 30,861 Financing: 2.9% for 36 months, 0 down. Dealer: Honda Superstore of Lisle, Lisle, IL Other low quotes were 28705 from Honda in Joliet (email quote), 28990 from Community Honda in Orland Park (Phone quote), 29168 from Continental Honda in Countryside (Visited the dealer and talked to the salesman). Personally visited the shop and said I will do it now if they sold it for 28400. They agreed, no pressure and gave for 2.9 APR. It is the lowest february quote I received from Honda store in Joliet (the sales manager refused to honor their own february price and increased it by 300). This website helped in getting a deal I am happy with. Took the fear out of me in entering a car dealer shop. Thanks EDMUNDS. PM me for salesman name. Suresh

I finally puller the trigger today; Touring R/N, Slate on Black. 32,800 - Sale Price (including Destination) 16,250 - Trade in 16,550 - Cash Difference 50 - Documentary Service Fee 25 - ERT Fee 16,625 - Taxable Total 1,080 - 6.5 Sales Tax 80 - License Transfer ------ 17,785 OTD Purchased from Pauly Honda in Libertyville, IL. Definitely a pleasant experience working with them. We went back and forth a few times on the trade in value. The only other dealership that had Slate on Black was Community Honda in Orland Park, IL and they were ready to sell for 32,687. But they were a$$holes on the phone, so I didn't want to give them the business. Happy to further discuss my shopping/purchase details if it will help anyone. Thanks to all that contribute to this forum which helped me out a lot!

Hi, Chris, I bought mine at Community Honda in Orland Park, IL (SW suburb, Cook County). I really didn't bargain too intensely. I would just advise you try to get them to keep any trade-in, markdown from sticker price, and financing as separate figures. I find that's the easiet way to really see what you're really getting. Many people say don't trade in -- sell it yourself. I didn't want that hassle, plus you don't pay sales tax on the trade-in amount. I qualify this with the warning that I'm no expert. Hope this helps.

$26,700 included destination, mud flaps, and wheel locks. Had several offers in this range, but ended up with Community Honda in Orland Park, IL.
Odyssey Incentives still in effect?

Hello all, Just wondering if the Odyssey dealer cash incentive is still in effect. Am preparing to purchase in Chicago area and have noticed that the latest newspaper ads don't seem to reflect this discounted pricing. Hope I didn't miss the boat! :) Thanks

That sounds like a great deal as well as a great way to shop. I used to enjoy the back and forth nonsense with the dealer, but I've grown out of that phase :) I live in the area(Orland Park,IL) and am preparing to start shopping. Did you shop other dealers in the area as well? I noticed the Grand Honda ad in the newspaper and must say, it might be worth the drive! Thanks, Ken
