Just purchased Accord SE
by vrborg on Tue May 23 06:33:23 PDT 2006
I got my Accord SE 2006 yesterday in Chicago. Actually, I was looking for a Honda Fit, but I couldn't find one. I ended up with Accord SE 2006 in silver. It was unplanned and I hadn't studied a bit about Accord. I paid out-of-the-door price of 20,650. In detail, the car price was 19,094, document fee 57.83, Champaign, IL tax 1,340, new car tax 15, license 143. After reading the discussions here, I felt it was not a good deal! Honda also charged me 7.75% interest rate! What do you guys think about my deal? Thanks.

Re: 2006 CIVIC 2 door LX AT, $17509 outdoor price, maryland [noahxue]

I just bought 2006 Civic 4 door LX AT $18038 OTD. I am in Champaign, IL. One month ago, I got some quotes and the price at local dealer seems more expensive(16700+tax+TTL=18030)and hard to negotiation. One dealer in Decatur offer me like 16400+fee.Last weekend I went to test drive in Decatur and sit down to talk about the price. The OTD is $18700.(The saleman added some rediculous fee). I said that some dealer offer me like 17700, he said it is impossible. For me, the car seems so popular that the saleman don't want to lower their price to get a customer. After I came back, I try to call other dealers and ask the price, most of them say the LX will be about 19000. The price getting higher and higher. Then, I said my local dealer give me an quote 18038 OTD. Most of them said it is impossible. One dealer told me that "it is a good deal. if I were you, I will buy the car immediately, I won't waste my time to asking the price." Since the saleman said that, I went to the local dealer and buy the car in 10 min. Maybe it is possible to bargain to get the lower price. But, after all the frustrated processes. I just want to get a car soon.
Question about buying a new car at other states
by irislin23 on Mon Feb 27 21:48:54 PST 2006
I am a foreign student in Champaign, IL. Recently, I went to Honda dealer to test drive a 2006 Civic 4-door LX. The dealer offered $18038 as OTD and seems not negotiable. I asked for OTD $17000. They say it is impossible. Now, I am thinking buy a car at Maryland during the spring break. (My boyfriend lives there) It seems easier to get a better price than here. My only concern is that if I buy a new car during spring break in Maryland, and drive it back to illinois. Is there any problem that I should know? Thanks for your help
LX lease question
by rkramb on Mon Nov 21 08:58:10 PST 2005
I see on Honda's website that they are currently offering a lease for the LX Special Edition ($239/month for 42 months w/ $1999 due at signing). What would a similar lease be for an LX with no SE. Would the ~$700 difference in price make much of a difference, or would the special deal on the SE almost make up for the price difference?
Special interest rates for CR-V
by rkramb on Mon Aug 01 10:13:21 PDT 2005
Does anyone know if there is any predictability to when Honda offers special financing rates for the CR-V? I remember back in March they were offering 2.9% for all their vehicles, but I haven't seen anything else since then. I talked to a salesperson last week who said their best rate now is 4.99% for well qualified buyers and 5.49% for the "college grad program" (which I would probably use since I just graduated in May). I would like to be able to get one by October, but I could wait if I know they will have specials toward the end of the year.
