Northern California Purchase -- Odyssey EXL with DVD (no Nav) by jabber888 on Mon Jun 11 21:21:25 PDT 2007

Have been checking out this forum for the last month. Thanks to the threads, I think I got a fair deal though many members probably did better. I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't taken to the cleaners. Unfortunately, I missed the Memorial Day Sales and cannot wait for any July 4th specials. I would have like to wait till end of model year to see if I could get an even better deal or to actually wait for the 08's. (Bluetooth and MP3 jack would be nice!) But I had to have the van this week. Below is the breakdown. EXL with RES (No Nav) Nimbus Gray with Olive Leather Interior. $28,895.81 selling price which includes the destination charge. $2388.44 Sales Tax (CA Tax of about 8.25%) $55 Doc Prep Fee $8.75 CA Tire Fee $10 CA County Fee $242 New Veh Lic Fee The carpet mats which are included Full Tank of Gas (I think everyone gets this.) Included Honda Original Cargo Tray Included Honda Original Weather Mats for 3 rows $31,600 OTD Took the 2.9% - 36 months for the entire $31,600. $918 a month. Total 3 year interest would add up to $1440. No pre-payment penalty after $75 of interest paid. No trade in. Purchased at Anderson Honda, Palo Alto, CA Assisted by Salesman Conway Chan. Only had to deal with their salesmanship tactics a few times. Experience with the staff was professional and courteous. I did not purchase the extended warranty at time of veh purchase. I'm thinking of calling the finance guy the next couple of days and offering $1,000 for 8 yrs/100,000, no deductible, with cash back. Not sure if they will bit...

Re: 2005 Accord EX-L without navigation [aggie10] by piturra on Mon Aug 29 09:38:09 PDT 2005

(QUOTE) aggie10 - "Can anyone please comment on the price I was quoted? Thanks a lot." (UnQUOTE) OK, ... last May 2nd, my very 1st email (using Edmond's "GET DEALER QUOTES" option the night before), ... I was quoted $21,086 including DEST + TTL for … … 2005 Honda Accord 4 cyl. AT EX-L PZEV Sedan!!! The next Dealer on the list called, said they can match, ... then got my permission to send me their boiler-plated personal email quote which had a higher quote, but matching the 1st Dealer's email quote was no problem! Received the email and they not only guaranteed price matching any legitimate local Dealer's quote, but will beat it by $100!!! So, ... my Final tally Anderson Honda in Palo Alto: Price: .........$20,986.00 ($1,800 below INV) Tire Fee: ...........$8.75 Doc. Fee: ..........$45.00 8.5% tax: .......$1,735.06 DMV (Est): ........$187.00 ====================== TOTAL: .........$22,961.81 OTD (Out the Door!) Paid for it on May 4th and waited (all 4 cyl EX-L's Sedan's were sold out locally)... ... took delivery :D off the truck on May 6th w/4.5 miles on the Odometer!!! Presently, I have over 3,600 miles and after 11 tanks of gas, my overall MPG = 27 AVG (85% City / 15% HW) The driving experience has been fun and glorious!!! At this point with the 2006 models coming, you should at the very least, ... match what I got if not beat it by a few hundred $$$'s! Hope this helps, Phil Pic's of my 2005 Honda Accord 4 cyl. Re: Accord EXL 4 cyl prices [sdguy123] by piturra on Thu Jul 07 14:15:41 PDT 2005

Fee: ..........$45.00 8.5% tax: .......$1,735.06 DMV (Est): ........$187.00 ---------------------------------- TOTAL: .........$22,961.81 OTD Hopefully, you can do better than I did, ... as we get close to the 2006 release!! Otherwise, your OTD is just $138.19 more than what I paid and that's not bad at all today!!! FYI: Over 2,400 miles on my EX-L Accord Sedan and loving it throughly!!! AVG = 27.7 MPG after 7 tanks of gas (80% City / 20% Highway) Loved XM so much, I bought the Delphi SkiFi2 w/Home Kit @ eBay - subscribed for 3-years and sent away, (just received) the FREE Delphi Roady2 w/Car Kit (presently listening to it right now @ work!!!) [QUOTE ... by markky] Hey do you think Anderson Honda can give me the same deal? Pls let me know... [UnQUOTE] You got to find out what the Dealer's Email (or Phone**) Quotes climate is right now - June 2nd, 2005!!! THREE STEPS: 1) Pick your car .... a) Model / Color (Mine is "Desert Mist Metallic") .... b) Trim .... c) Options ........ 1. Example (You like mine ...): ............ a. Model = Accord 4cyl. PZEV** AT Sedan (**All 4 cyl = PZEV in CA) ............ b. Trim = EX-L ............ c. Options = NONE from Dealer / Internet accessories prices including SH lower vs. Dealer 2) Research your car .... a) Know the Dealer's INVOICE .... b) Looked up INVOICE $$$ @ Edmunds.com and Kelly's Blue Book website. 2005 Honda Accord EXL 4 cyl. PZEV** AT EXL Sedan - MSRP: $25,265 (w/$515 Destination) Dealer's INV.. $22,271 DEST............. $515 =============== Total......... $22,786.00** + CA tax, DMV, Tire & Doc fee. **NOTE: All California Honda 4 cyl. = PZEV certified - Invoice costs above from Edmunds.com 3) Obtain Email Dealer Quotes by using Edmunds.com .... a) First: Select the Model & Trim ............ a. 2005 Honda Accord - EX PZEV 4dr Sedan w/Leather (2.4L 4cyl 5A) .... b) Second: Select Color (Desert Mist) and put in your Zip Code .... c) Third: Look below the Totals w/Options and select "Get Dealer Quotes" .... d) Fourth: Make sure AutoWest Fremont and Anderson, Palo Alto is on the list ............ a. Fill-out all the Personal Address & your Email INFO .... e) Fifth: WAIT until you get these quotes or calls and you will have you're answer to your question if you can get my price!!! ========= **The price Anderson originally quoted me over the phone was $21,786.00 (incl. $515 Destination) and earlier that morning, the first quote I received was from Autowest Honda Fremont for $21,086.00 (incl. $515 Destination) "+ fees" (wow!!! ). Sooooo, ... ... I asked the Internet Manager @ Anderson if he price match (?), then I referred to my $21,086 email quote from Autowest Honda. He said that they do!!! YES!!! ( :D I live about 5-miles from Anderson and really, ... really, ... really wanted to deal with them!!!) Next, he asked if he could send me an official email quote and since his $21,786.00 price is a template, it would still reflect his first quote $21,786, although matching $21.086 was no problem. :D After reading his email, by purchasing it thru Anderson, I could take advantage of their LOW PRICE GUARANTEE and save another $100, ... hence my starting cost $20,986 (incl. $515 Destination) ($22,961.81 OTD) So, hopefully, whatever incentives that were active on May 1st to 4th** are still available today! **The 4th is the day I paid cash but since all the 4cyl EX-L's were sold out, if I wanted a car within the week, I had to choose from three (3) 4 cyl EX-L's Sedans that were coming between 5th to 9th (??) My color choices were "Black", "Silver" and "Desert Mist Metallic" - the color I picked! I actually waited 2-days for my car to arrive on the 6th, ... and presently I have over 835+ glorious miles on the car with an average of 25.5 MPG (90% City / 10% Highway - 2 tanks of gas)!!! Yes I'm extremely happy!!!!!!! :) :D ;) Hope this helps, Phil Pic's of my 2005 Honda Accord 4 cyl. AT EXL PZEV Sedan My Epinions.com 2005 Honda Accord Review

Java, first of all...take it easy,,this board is setup to Educate buyers who are making decisions on Vans and prices. Again, My price on LX was on Average $1000 above MSRP in California (AutoWest Honda, Fremont and Anderson Honda, Palo Alto) I also checked with Elko Honda in Reno NV and 2 dealers in LA. Same story and run around (read my previous postings). Same frustration that everyone here goes through. So I changed my mind and went with Nissan 2001 GXE. I paid 21K even out the door with comfort option and running boad, TV/VCR, dual AC/heater, dual radio controls back and front). That was $4,875 less than honda LXnot to mention the tax on that amount. As for Saftey, the figures just released last week gives the quest 5 stars for crash test. I encourage everyone to go to the site and check it out. I agree that gas miles is less and it has less horsepower, but its also smaller van so much lighter. By the way, the engine is very adequate for the size. I believe it is much more reliable than Odyssey. I checked with my Neighbor who has a '99 with 50K and he swears that he has not spend a dime on repairs. Its much quieter than odyessey and has better quality of seats, stereo and matrials inside. Engine and transmisstion have already proven themselves based on the history. Honda's are new and I believe we are seeing problems pop up based on the postings at Edmunds. Also check Quest site and you will see much less problems. Again, I am not saying this van is for everyone, Honda would be #1 in my book if it would go at invoice and dealers would treat buyers with respect, but for MSRP,or above MSRP..buyers should be aware that there are other choices. With Nissan's you can negotiate from invoice down, I saved $2500 below invoice. Back in October, Honda wouldn't even show me the car till I put my deposit down....
