2008 Fit Sport Auto/trans: by protrack on Sun May 25 08:48:49 PDT 2008; From Jon Hall Honda in Daytona Beach FL. Really down to earth people. Up front,truthfull and honest. No mind games on extras or add ons. The people who work there give personal accounts of being on the other side of the fence like us buyers so they simply put forth their best. $17900.00 out the door which included the double mfg warranty from Honda. which goes for $1060.00 . Cheap insurance for doubling the warranty. Everyone else was so close in quoting that the final factor was who actually had the model available right now. And to my surprise it was my own local dealer. They expect the Fit to go on a waiting list in months to come due to the start of the mad rush for economy. Daytona Bob :shades:

My dad called my dealer back home (Charlotte, NC) and they said they would sell me the car for $17,000. My dad then called a dealer in DeLand, FL and Daytona Beach. Both said they would do the deal for $17,000 (note: including my trade) We put them to the test and went to both dealerships and said that there was NO WAY that the dealer that I got the car from would do it for $17,350 and immediately shook our hands and sarcastically wished us luck. I don't know, sometimes I just think that $20k for a Civic is a lot, but this is my 4th car and I have never been so proud/happy of another car! :blush: And I did get it pretty close to invoice once you add in the price for the extras added to the car. I'm getting jealous of seeing all these deals on the LX :shades: but I honestly thought that the seats in the EX and LX were too hard and so I decided to spend the extra little bit. I love it, but I am still curious to see what others are paying :confuse:

And, I know you know, the dealership does not actually pay the 17036 cost for that car but, rather, finances it at about $170 per month. So yes, it's a hell of a good deal for the salesman and dealership and a poor deal for the customer. A more reasonable, win-win deal, would be a counter-offer of cost + 7% or about $18,230.
