Buying a car from a Honda Car Dealer
You are great, guys! Looking for 4WD EX-L with Navi for about $28,000. Is it realistic for NY/NJ/CT? i live in Brooklyn. Any advice and/or dealer name would be appreciated.
i'm looking for the same Pilot, but with Navi. Do you remember if they have them over there. what was the dealer's name? i live in Brooklyn, but ready to go in CT for this kind of price. thx a lot.
Martin Honda in Manhattan deals straight, but not with lowest prices. You might want to check Honda of New Rochelle, where I got a decent price. The dealer in Greenwich, CT, was willing to match the HofNR price, but why go the extra distance? The dealer in Tarrytown seemed very nice, too, though I didn't discuss price with him since he didn't have what I wanted. I personally was disimpressed with the Honda dealers in the Bronx and Queens, and I didn't think Brooklyn would be much better, though I didn't actually go there, so that part's not based on actual dealings. But I think that if you know exactly what you want, have a realistic idea of a good price to pay and are willing to go someplace else if they won't meet your price, then start walking out the door with no intention of coming back when they say they can't go that low, you'll find that they'll call you back with a lower price. If three dealers in a row let you go, you'll know the price you want is probably a bit too low. I wonder about the effect of color on price. Silver and beige are the two most popular colors, I was told, so there may be less incentive to reduce prices on those, as there are lots of folks willing to buy them. Green, blue and red are less in demand (somewhere around 5 to 7% of all Accords sold, I heard -- anyone know if that's true?), so a dealer may be more willing to cut a price on one of those. Not sure where the grey and black fit in.
Does anyone have any good experience with dealer in NJ? Where? I have purchased a Civic in 1999 from D&C Honda in Tenafly, NJ. It was the most pleasurable experience out of all of NYC dealerships. If you don't mind taking a hike to CT, Fair Honda of Danbury took really good care of me and some other people on and off this site. I have heard good things of Mahwah Honda , in Mahwah NJ. Here is a list of dealers to stay away from: 1. Paragon Honda in Queens, NY 2. RT 23 Honda in Pompton plains, NJ 3. White plains Honda in White plains, NY (owned by the same people who own Paragon. 4. Bob Ciasully Honda in Jersey City, NJ. 5. Bay Ridge Honda in Brooklyn, NY How much did you pay for it in total? This should not be your only concern. You should lok at the overall picture as well.
