SoCal CRV 2WD EX-L W/Navi Glacier Blue $24479 on 6/30

Many thanks to those who have taken the time to post here. I'm grateful for the help and firmly believe that I would have paid much more for my CR-V if I hadn't found this forum. I'm getting ready to move to TX, so I did ALL of my haggling by email, until the very very end when I accepted the deal. They brought my car to me as well, and for no charge. After getting the price down to what I thought was a decent number once already with Freeway Honda in Santa Ana, I was invited to come by to close the sale only for the Fleet Mgr to be gone, and my car not even in stock! I was frustrated, and left. Thought maybe she'd come down in $ b/c of her mistake, but no. I moved on, and thank Goodness! SPREEN HONDA in Redlands/Loma Linda beat her "lowest" price by $1300! There were dealers in my area who came in just around $25000, but Spreen was the best by far. I didn't have time to drive so far, so they did the driving for me! I have no idea how they do it, financially. I pored over my contract when they brought it to me, but nothing was wrong. $25396 was from Penske Ontario. No destination fee, no delivery, only Doc Fee $55, CA Tire Fee $17, and tax. Cash, no trade-in. I love these guys. If anyone wants the guy's name, let me know. Prices may be going lower now that July 4 has passed, but I don't feel taken advantage of at all! :)

Santa Ana Honda in Orange County, CA. Who knows if they would have honored that price had I gotten into the financing office. They wanted me to sign a paper saying if they could do that price that I would buy from them. I laughed at him and told him I need to have my wife drive it before I could make a purchase (I still think I can get lower. It may just be by waiting a month or two though) If I can get it lower maybe I will go for the Touring. In August/September I saw people getting the Touring 4WD out the door for $34,185 so I dont think I will be happy until I can get in that ballpark...

Just to add to the previous post: I went to Santa Ana Honda yesterday to see a Silver Fit Sport Auto. I was quoted MSRP over the phone. When I arrived, I realized that there was a "$2000 package" added to it. (To give the representative credit, she did call and left a message to inform me of the package). Representatives were nice and professional. They also tried to ask the manager to let the car go for MSRP. However, this Package is what troubled me the most. Here's the details: -Alarm -Tint -Wheel Locks $1800+ I believe alarm is standard on the Fit Sport. So, the extras are tint and wheel locks for $1800... I think this type of practice is borderline deceptive. I understand ADMs and markups. But classifying markups as a upgrade package is unjust in my book. Just want to share that... Thanks

I would report him to the dealership owner, or the GM, or whoever signs his paycheck. Sometimes they don't care, sometimes they do. I'm sure someone like mnplshondadlr would like to know if their people are rude and obnoxious to potential customers. It's a small world, and some customers will go back to a dealer if they are treated well, even if they weren't as competitive as they'd hoped.

No. But I would have said, "Hopefully you will still service the car here,...". Thanks for clarifying your statement.

Nice way to take it out of contex. For the WHOLE sentance: "Hopefully you can still service the car here, but it's a Honda so I guess we wont get to see you too often." Meaning, if you live close to me, you dont have to service at the dealer you bought from. Even though you're not a sales customer you're more then welcome as a service customer. Plus you toss in some small humor with the Honda repair records. Based on the reaction from everyone else, I would say you are the only one backy, who thinks this comment was anything but innocent. When someone says, "I'm so hungry I could eat a cow.", do you tell them that no one could eat a cow?
