Re: 2009 Accord 4 CY EXL Auto Sedan Price $22.7K [ram_mdx]

I didn't get the deal for 21,800. My deal was for 21,900. Check out post #23457: "Hi There, I live in san francisco, ca and looking to buy 2009 Accord EX-L Sedan AT trans (no navigation) this few days. I got a quote after much haggling for $21,800 (destination fee included). I just have to pay for tax and dmv fee and doc fee. Do you think this is a fair price? Anybody can tell me if I can get lower than $21,800?" The person who wrote this response did. He/she got his deal in CA. Mine, for 100 more, was in Maine. It's interesting that we are on opposite ends of the country. I didn't have to haggle as much as he/she did. I simply used e-mail to play dealers off each other. Simple!

Honda Civic LX AT sedan (Northern California; San Francisco Bay Area)

Re: Honda Civic LX AT sedan, red (Northern California; San Francisco Bay Area). I’ve been browsing this forum, and it was a significant help to me, so I wanted to post my numbers for reference. Thanks to all who share their info. Although I’ve seen OTD prices that were lower, I think my price falls within the reasonable deal category –especially for Northern California / San Francisco Bay Area [final base price w/ dest. fee $15,938; OTD $17,750]. I shopped around with about six local dealers in my area and made a few counter offers to the final contenders. I was in a bit of a hurry to get a new car and didn't necessarily have the time to push for the absolute bottom price. I just didn't want to feel like I was getting ripped off. The price variations were significant -especially with the face-to-face dealer encounters. One guy (the highest quote) told me that his $16,900 base price w/ dest. fees was “cutting to the bone.” Another guy quoted $16,600 base price w/ dest. fees and tried to push the same day impulse buy (“just walk around the block and think it over”). One Internet sales quote came in just under $16,000, but he left out the destination fee and then wouldn’t come down when I showed him other lower offers. Going through the Internet sales reps. was absolutely the way to go. Make sure the “extras” are included in the email correspondence (Once at the dealership, I had to show the sales rep. copies of my email correspondence which included all-weather floor mats since a different guy handled email negotiations). Still, overall, when I got to the dealer (Walnut Creek Honda), there were no last minute games and the sale was handled expeditiously. Final Numbers: Honda Civic LX AT sedan, California / San Francisco Bay Area (Alameda County / East Bay): Sticker MSRP w/ $670 dest. fee: $18,825 Final base price with $670 dest. fee: $15,938 Doc Prep. fee: $55 CA Sales Tax + Alameda County Local: $1,559 (ugh!) License fees: $103 Reg., title, transfer: $85 CA tire fee: $8.75 **Total OTD sale price: $17,750 with all-weather rubber mats (front and back).

I'm also finding that there isn't much of a stock of the coupe ex, in southern california at least.[...] and [they] don't even know when theyre getting more. I thought there would be overstock, based on what we're hearing about the market. I guess Honda's cut production by a lot already? Anyone else experiencing the same thing? I am actually experiencing something similar in Northern California (San Francisco Bay Area). It really doesn't help that I am looking for a coupe ex-l with nav and in a manual transmission (super difficult to find). I did find one (4 cylinder) up here but was hoping to purchase a car with a different interior color than the one they had in stock. We went to the Internet Sales Manager's computer to look up which dealerships had the car with a different color configuration and found none in northern CA but about 6 in southern CA. He mentioned that their particular dealership has actually stopped shipments for a while because they have so many cars in stock (tho not a lot of coupes) and was not sure when the shipments would resume. I don't know how close you are to Simi Valley, but from the looks of the inventory online, First Honda seems to have a few EX Coupes, I4 in both Manual and Automatic (I have no idea how accurate their website is tho). Good Luck!
Honda Civic EX-L Manual Transmission

Hi! I used this forum when I was researching, so I figured I'd 'give back'. I bought a 2009 EX-L with a manual transmission, Crystal Black Pearl, this past weekend. Got it at Dublin Honda (Dublin, CA) from their internet sales dude. They matched the price from Zag/USAA/Overstock.com - $19,581 (which includes destination fee). It's about $300 under invoice - I didn't want to have to negotiate in person. With San Francisco sales tax running at 8.5%, my OTD price was $21,458. I generally liked my sales guy, he was low pressure. Just pissed that he conned me into signing a credit check form, even though I came in with my own financing. 'Business manager', AKA F&I guy, was getting frustrated that I wanted to understand everything on the form I was signing (he was not my favorite). Anyway, I was the first person to drive the car, took it home last Saturday, now I'm @ 380 miles. First tank got 33 MPG combined, though I do mostly highway driving. I'm happy with my purchase!
Re: San Francisco Bay area - Accord sedan, EX-L w/nav, 4-cylinder? [bvdj84]

No, it's the 4-cylinder engine, not the V6. And I did look at the previous posts, and I couldn't find one that was recent, for the 4-cylinder with navigation, with $0 down, and in CA [particularly the San Francisco Bay area].
