As a backup, I went to my local credit union and got approved at their rate of 4.75. If Honda starts jerking me around, I'll go to my CU.   My Pilot, EX-L, DVD RES, will be ready for me tomorrow. Already have a $1,000 deposit onit. Only aftermarket option I'm getting is LoJack.   RM

Accord LX AT w/Airbags - Stupid Dealer Story: by sandiego_guy on Thu Jul 01 10:24:07 PDT 2004; A while ago, I posted my "deal", $17,900 for an LX sedan w/AT&Airbags from Family Honda in Orange County, CA. I was recently reviewing the paperwork on this car, and I noticed that this car came from Hoehn Honda in Carlsbad, California in San Diego county, where I live. Apparently, this car was shipped from Hoehn to Family Honda, specifically to sell to me (it was in my requested Graphite Pearl Color). The really funny thing about this deal was that I took the original test drive for this car, and was "sold" on this car at Hoehn Honda and I spent nearly an hour at the dealership attempting to buy this car. Hoehn Honda would not go below $19k, which they claimed to be invoice price, and they allowed me to walk from the deal. Now I find out that one week after I walked out of Hoehn, they shipped the car to an Orange County dealer 60 miles away specifically so that dealer could sell me the car for over $1k less!! How stupid is that! Hoehn and I could have both saved a lot of time and energy if they had just sold me the car at the price that I ultimately purchased the car for.

Southern Calif pricing: by sjwsmw on Thu Jan 09 08:00:07 PST 2003; sanvijay- I just picked up my EX in Sandstone with cloth. It took a while(10 weeks) after placing the request but I did get it for MSRP by just asking. It seems certain dealers are realizing that asking more is affecting their credibility and the dealer I used sells other makes and wants me back for another car down the road. I also got all my accessories at cost, even lower than the after market sites. So, I guess I did all right. The dealer is in north San Diego County (Carlsbad)and the salesman is Lee. Good luck.
