Re: 08 Accord EX-L for $23,900 before TTL [mplshondadlr]

For example, here in Minnesota the state caps dealer at $50.00. Fair enough, but where I live (AZ) most dealer doc fees are $369 or more. Some other states that don't cap doc fees are even higher ($500 and up). That is a pretty substantial amount. I just think if you can get all the figures before making a decision, why not do it?

isell, Your honesty is appreciated. I'd rather be an educated buyer than one who is overconfident with incorrect information. As far as the holdback amount, the 3% figure is one I got right here on edmunds.com. link title It lists Honda as 3% of the Base MSRP. So, I'm not sure why there is a discrepancy. Anyways, your post was not too late. I am still driving the RSX, as I have been unable to find a deal here in AZ on a Coupe that I've found suitable. The quotes I've received for a 5-speed manual EX Coupe have been about $1,000 over invoice in many cases. Coupled with high doc fees in the area (usually close to $400) and the less than stellar lease rates on Accords right now, I just haven't been inclined to pull the trigger. I've never had a single issue with my Acura, it still has low miles and is a sporty car, so I haven't been in a real hurry to make a move. If I do finally decide to ramp up my search, I believe I'll expand to So. Cal dealers since the 4-5 hour drive would be worth the extra savings to me. Thanks again for the info.
2.9 + $3500 rebate

I have read a lot about the great prices the many are getting , but do the deals also include the 2.9% financing? I am looking for an EXL w/RES in Albuquerque and so far the dealers have not been very competitive with the pricing. I am willing to travel to TX, AZ or CO to find a deal. Thanks

I am working pretty hard in the Phoenix area and the best offer I have worked is $22,700 for a VP. I don't think I have found the bottom yet, however, the white model is in short supply here, so I am rethinking my strategy.

I'm in Houston, we bought a 2WD VP last February. The initial quote was $22130 (included destination charge) w/c I think was exactly 3500 below the invoice. One other dealer quoted the same price, another about $200 more and another about $600 more so I believed we were on the right track. The 1st dealer tried to add about $500 for the window tint and pinstripes. Told the salesman the pinstripes were like $15 and the tint was already included in the base model (I was thinking of the rear privacy glass but I think he meant the front window tint). He dropped it to $195 for both and I said okay --- if he added wheel locks, tonneau cover, and rear splash guards (total price about $186 from an internet seller; accessories bought from dealers are overpriced, they will even show you their list). So the price (w/o doc fees, TT&L) was $22325 and I ended up getting the cargo tray for free (a $79 value) as the tonneau cover was out of stock when we took the Pilot home and the salesman wanted us to be happy (got the tonneau cover a few days later). Hope this helps.

The best quote I got so far for vp 2wd is 22300 (not including other fees) in So Cal. I heard that some Atlanta dealer offer at 21500 and this my target right now. If some other people bought VP, please share the price, thanks.
