Buying a car from a Honda Car Dealer

AL Honda Car Consumer Discussions

Here's the done deal on my '06 Civic LX Sedan auto. by roundtrip on Fri Jun 30 21:14:18 PDT 2006

I had a last minute change before I bought my car. I found a credit union with a better rate than my capital one blank check, 90 days no payment, and a $50 gas card--so I took it. This is what I paid with my certified check: $16649.04 --car $ 550.00 --destination fee $ 16.50 --title and license $ 199.50 --document prep. $ 86.99 --0.5% city tax $ 347.97 --2% state tax $17850.00 grand total, out the door, and $150 under my target price In addition, the car was traded from another dealership, to get my color, and it had mud flaps already (no charge.) Plus, I got three free oil changes, and of course, a tank of gas. I did not have a trade-in because I sold my old car at a way better price than the dealership was going to give. But I couldn't blame them on that. Not many folks go to the dealership for an '01 Chevy Lumina with 146,000 m. All in all, the experience was exhausting but not traumatic. The Internet Lead Manager was experienced and took my requests seriously. His competition almost had him beat until the very end. So kudos to Grissom Honda in Gadsden, AL for a good run. But, if you really want the deal of the century (or deal of the month in the case of buying a new car), go to Sunny King Honda in Oxford, AL. The dealership made me feel like I got a good deal and even said that the experience was all about me and what I wanted. I can't wait to put some miles on it and see how high I can make my mileage go. One more thing, Edmunds discussion boards really taught me more than I could have imagined. Thanks to the dealers, pros, and all you 2-centers. It added up to a great deal for me.

2006 Honda Accord EX-L by hondageorgia on Wed Feb 01 10:02:32 PST 2006

Just had a great buying experience at Grissom Motors in Gadsden, AL. No hassles and no special "package fees" added on. The dealer admin fee (also called the "doc fee") was only $99 (for all cars on the lot). 2006 Honda Accord EX-L (without navigation) including destination fee and doc fee for just under $23,700. Just have to pay TT&L on top of that. No hassles and out the door in less than 90 minutes. Definitely worth driving a few hours to get this deal! Good luck! :)
