Re: '07 EX-L w/RES/NAV pricing [junior66]: by esteeze on Fri Dec 07 04:10:15 PST 2007; junior66, You can do better than that... try Precision Honda in Jasper and Sunny King Honda in Oxford (near Anniston); both of those places quoted me under $30,000 for that same vehicle a couple of weeks ago. The tax rate in Oxford is 2.5%, so you save on taxes there also. I've been impressed with the responses to my emails from both of these places. I'll probably buy an 07 EX from one of the two in the next week or so.

Re: 2007 ODY EX pricing [ambro]: by esteeze on Tue Dec 04 21:40:45 PST 2007; Ah, I had forgotten about the impact of tax on the OTD price... here in Alabama, the vehicle sales tax ranges from 2.5 - 3.75% (depending upon which municipality you get it in), so it not as big of a factor. Actually, the best rate of 2.5% is available at a dealer in Anniston, AL, which is very close to the town of Lincoln (where the North American Honda manufacturing facility is for Odyssey's and Pilots). A base price of $23,700 is pretty reasonable from what I've seen. Here in Hoover, AL (where I live) the local dealer has a reduced sticker price of $24,700 on the 07 EX model now (that's advertised price); sales tax is 3.75% here, though.

I used the Internet sales dept. and had 3 dealerships corresponding with me. AND no you shouldn't have to travel here, to AL. I can't imagine why you couldn't get a good deal somewhere around Atlanta.

As a teacher, I somewhat envy the 6-9% sales tax revenue other states get. As a consumer, I still would have had the same OTD price even if the sales tax was 6-9%. The dealer, had he accepted my offer, would have had to take a cut in the price of the car.

Now this did not include my AL tax of 2% that I would have had to pay when I registered my car in AL. However, they were not consistent in their e-mail communication, and I ended up with 3 AL dealers trying to get my business. I was persistent and got my Civic for $17850 OTD. Keep trying, esp. at the end of this month! That used car--is it a program car or what? You are right. That is a crazy price for 3000 miles.
