Do not trust this company

by moneycoach on 12/29/2017

When I purchased my car, I received a rebate for financing and I informed the finance person I intended on paying off the loan ASAP. He told me I had to wait until I had paid the third payment before I paid off the loan, otherwise I would lose the rebate. After I made the third payment, I called Hyundai Finance to pay off the loan only to learn that I could have paid off the loan at any time. This misinformation cost me $554. When I called Terry Reid Hyundai, the manager, Vic, told me ‘Well, at least you earned interest on the money while you waited to pay it off.’ He and the finance person seemed proud that they had deceived me into waiting on paying off the loan. I’ve since learned the resason they wanted me to wait is because the dealership would be responsible for paying off the rebate if I paid off the loan earlier. The sales person bragged that they use language to deceive the customers. They make them believe they would be responsible for repaying the rebate, when in fact the dealership would be responsible. Do not trust this dealership. Go somewhere else.

smooth purchase

by fastbunnie on 05/11/2013

Lanny is a great sales person, helpful, educated on the vehicles, genuinely interested in helping the customer. Lanny helped me determine the best vehicle for me, told me everything about it inside and out. Even showed an old school driver how to drive a new fangled car. Very happy with my experience. No hassle negotiations. Go to Terry Reid and ask for Lanny.

Pleasurable Experience

Bottom Line...Terry Reid Hyundai gave me the best deal of all the dealerships. And not by just a little! No high-pressure sale. Nice folks.

2 Strikes UR Out

by mamoo2 on 07/12/2012

I have been to this dealer 2x now. The first they tried to sell me a very used vehicle with someones wallet inside. The second time was today. Stopped in to get a brochure which they didn't have. Talked with a salesperson who really didn't want to talk to me. They told me I could go online and view the car using the 360 degree virtual. My response was that it is not quite as good as actually looking at the vehicle and could I see a Forte. The salesperson took me outside and named off LX, EX, 2 door, 4 door, etc. He then stated here they are. I tried to open the door of one and they just stood there. They never offered to unlock the door. They didn't even get a key before we went out. So, finally realizing they didn't care if they made a sale or not I said Thank You and I left. Just for their information we are buying a car but it will not be from Terry Reid of Cartersville.

Terry Reid Hyundai Buyer Beware

by donleybbb on 01/23/2012

I bought a 2010 used Dodge Challenger which I traded a perfect no flaws 2006 Corvette for. For the trade I was offered 5000.00 below value for my car. I took the challenger for a test drive and everything seemed ok on the overcast day? I looked over the body and from what I saw everything looked ok. The salesman had told me about the options on the car while test driving. One of these wast the phone connect on the radio for hands free calling. We made the trade even though the money was $5000.00 under where it should be. I got the car home and then the sun came out. The paint on the front was rock chipped badly, the phone connect was not on this vehicle, the aftermarket cool air intake was not on as told. I tried to contact but they would not return any of my requests to follow up on the issues. I contacted the BBB and they contacted, nothing was resolved here either. All I want to do is help others not to make the same mistake and purchase from Terry Reid Hyundai. Unfortunately this is a Buyer Beware type Dealership and I would hate to see anyone else have to go through this as I have had to do……. I will tell everyone I know of the lack of ethics as a dealership that has been exhibited by this company. No one should have to feel as if they were taken or their trust violated.

Review of sales

by cks2 on 01/03/2012

We had a good experience at Terry Reid Hyundai when recently purchasing our new Velostar. We love the car and enjoyed working with the sales team there. Arcie Ashley was among the team and was always available to answer a question and to follow up.

Did not tell me no spare. Very slow in processing sale

by garoman on 11/23/2011

I bought a new Hyundai Elantra and was very pleased until we had a flat tire while on vacation. I took out our luggage and was shocked to find a pump and bottle of "fix a flat" where the spare tire was supposed to be. I lost the whole afternoon in having the car towed and getting the tire fixed- fix a flat won't repair gashes in the side of a tire. I have had to have the car towed again due to a tire being slashed while parked in a church parking lot. This left my wife stranded in a bad part of town. The dealer and Hyundai say the tire is left out to conserve on weight. You do not leave out a piece of safety equipment to make a car lighter- that puts your family in danger. I was never told by the dealership that the car did not have a spare. It never occured to me to check the tire well in the trunk- who would think a dealer would be dishonest enough to sell a car without a spare tire? Well, Terry Reid did that to me. Another point- they were very slow in the sales process. It took them forever to give me a price and to come up with a deal on my trade. I'll not be a return customer.

Satisfied Customer

by taylor36 on 08/02/2011

I just bought a 2012 Sonata from this dealership. Did I get a killer deal, no but I did get a very good deal on the exact car I wanted. They didn't have the color sonata with the right package on their lot. But they went out of their way to get it for me. They did not pressure me to buy a car already on their lot that I didnt reallly want. This dealership is eager to sell you a car and willing to be accommendating with extras to get you to buy a car from them. Remember that all is fair in love, war and car hagglering! Be prepared with facts and figures before you buy . You can get exactly what you want at this dealership don't be afraid to ask for more than just the car.

Bait and Switch - Stay Away from [violative content deleted] - Did Not Honor Written Quote

by rixjeep on 07/11/2011

This is now Terry Reid Hyundai. Too bad you have to give at least one star to post a review. They don't deserve a rating...but a warning to others is definitely needed! By far the worst experience I have ever had in 30 years of purchasing automobiles. I was provided a quote by Tony Civilla then told he had made a mistake and provided with a corrected quote. When I couldn't come in that morning (Thursday...I was working!) I was then told the car had been sold. I visited their dealership two days later and found the car was still on the lot. I had the printed quote in-hand and went in to buy it from a different salesman, I was told they would meet the quote I'd been provided and that I wouldn't have to work with the salesman that lied to me. When we sat down to do the paperwork the salesman took the WRITTEN quote to the general manager, John Kuniskis. The salesman came back with a price of $562 more than I had been quoted. When I showed him on the quote what the drive out price was supposed to be he went back and was told that they would not sell me the vehicle for that price even though I had it in writing. They did what they had to do to get me into their dealership then pulled a bait and switch on me with their written quote. BUYER BEWARE!!!

SMALL, BUT DELIGHTFUL!!

by tpar on 07/06/2011

I had a wonderful experience at Terry Reid. From the second I send an email to them I was only treated like family. I highly recommend this dealer to anyone looking to get a great price on a car. At first, I worked with Wayne, he apparently had been there for 4 years, and had an answer to every question I had. That was over email and phone. When I got there, Wayne was busy with another customer, so he introduced me to Tony. There was no hesitation on any of their parts, as if neither of them worked on commission. Tony showed me the Elantra. I LOVED IT! They asked me, "If I can make all the numbers agreeable to you, will you be willing to take the vehicle home with you?" I thought about it for a second, and said "YES" twenty minutes later, I was in the office signing papers with Scott. He was new there, but knew everything he needed to do. Overall, my experience there was perfect! no problems whatsoever. If you go there, i advise you ask for Wayne or Tony!

Anemic Dealership for a Reason - BEWARE!!

by ricinga on 07/01/2011

I would have given this dealership NO STARS if I could have. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM! BEWARE! I contacted this dealership and was responded to quickly. I was given a price quickly as well and it was an excellent price. When I asked to come and test drive the vehicle I was given one excuse after an other then the salesman started tripping over his own lies. I was finally told that I just needed to come and complete the paperwork and they'd deliver the vehicle to my home or office. What? Buy sight - unseen and not even get a test drive? No way! I was contacted by a different salesman 3 weeks later. He said they had the car I wanted on the lot and wanted to know if I was still interested. I asked what happened to the other salesman and he said "who?" and that they were no longer there. He said he would honor the price and that if I could come by that evening he'd let me test drive the car. I made it by but after the dealership had closed. There was NO such vehicle on their lot. In fact, they had about 20 used cars and a whopping 6 new vehicles. I called the salesman's cell and asked where the vehicle was and that I was on their lot and wanted to see it. He said it was there when he left and he didn't understand why it wasn't there then. He said he'd find out and call me in the morning. I did receive a call from him and he said the sales manager had taken it for a drive and had gotten it dirty and it was in the service area to be cleaned up. He said it would be back out on the lot by lunchtime and asked again when I could come by. We made arrangements to meet the next evening. I went by again that night and again there was no such vehicle. It was also not listed in their website's new car inventory but the other cars were. I was obviously being lied to. I called the salesman back and got his voice mail. I told him to please call me back and let me know if the car would be ready to look at as arranged the night before and that if I did not hear back from him I would not waste my time and fuel making the trip to see him. That was 72 hours ago and I have as yet to have that call and two subsequent emails returned. Their obvious scam is to get you in their office and try to sell you what they have and not the vehicle you want. This vehicle never existed and I was clearly lied to. The same new cars have been on their lot for over a month. Obviously, business is not great for this dealership and it's easy to see why. STAY AWAY! There are plenty of other dealers in the Atlanta market.

Beware

by hiho1 on 06/10/2011

Given that so much information regarding cars and dealer's selling tactics are out there I would have expected the experience to be much more upfront. Wishful thinking. I was able to listen to the actual conversation between the salesman and his manager when one of them accidentally hit his redial button and called my phone unbeknownst to them. Priceless to hear how the salesman talks about customers behind their backs. It may be hard job to sell a car but I think that customers appreciate honesty and we understand that dealer also has to make a profit. In this case think of the typical sleazy image that you have of a car dealer. I heard from them so many times the old tried phrases "I am not making any money" and "I'll give you the best deal out there" and "You do not understand the car business". Dealer's attitude was condescending and patronizing. We went and bought the car from another dealer and did not waste any more time with this dealer.
