Re: Acadia Lease Offer [hawkdss]

Lets do the math and find out. MSRP: $32615 Residual: $12720 (39% of MSRP) Money Factor: 4.0% or .00166 (4% / 2400) Dealer fees: $1275.75 ($795 incept, $425 sec. dep. $55.75 tags) Negotiated Selling Price of Vehicle: Dealer Invoice: $31016 (Price you should pay for vehicle) Dealer Incentive: $2300 (GMC Rebate) Down Payment: $3995 (Cash down) Total Selling Price: $24721 Use Value (depreciation): Invoice Price (plus) Dealer fees (minus) Residual $24721 + $1276 - $12720 = $13277 Depreciation Payment of Lease: Depreciation value divided by length of lease $13277 / 39 months = $340.43 per month Interest Payment Calculations: Invoice Price (plus) Residual (multiplied by) Money Factor $24721+ $12720 multiplied by .00166= $43.15 per month Base Lease Payment Calculations: Depreciation Payment + Interest Payment $340.43 + $43.15 = $383.58 per month Sales Tax Payment Calculations: (See my note below please) Sales tax you quoted (divided by) lease lenght $885 divided by 39 months = $22.69 per month Base Lease + Sales Tax payments = $406.27 per month total payment On sales tax, here in PA it is charged on the monthly payment price and not calculated the way I did it above since I don't know the sales tax rate where you are it. In other words, take the base lease payment calculation from above ($383.58) and multiply it by the sales tax rate where you live. Here in PA on a lease it is 9% so $383.58 X 9%= $34.52 per month in sales tax on the lease. So the total lease payment would then be $418.10 per month. The other thing to consider is you should NOT put a lot of money OOP for a lease. The only thing that does is lower your monthly payment. If you were willing to pay $4000 OOP, why not take a higher monthly payment (recalculate using the formula above by subtracting the $4000 OOP) and use that $4000 to either supplement your higher monthly payment or use it to make the first 5 or 6 higher payments. Here's why: Say you put $4000 OOP on a lease to lower your monthly payment. Now driving out of the dealer parking lot with your new Acadia you get T-boned and your new vehicle is totaled. You insurance will cover the loss of the vehicle but the $4000 you put down to lower the monthly payment is lost. It's always better to put as little down OOP on a lease as possible for this reason. Another thing to consider is trying to negotiate the money factor. 4% is high. A Chevy dealer just quoted me 1.25% on a 48 month lease on a Traverse. Hope this helps you some in making your decision.

I am in the Northeast US. The dealer offering the deal on Acadias and Traverses is Kerbeck in Atlantic City, NJ. They had a 4-hour infomercial on regional TV this morning advertising it. To qualify for the owner loyalty rebate, you must currently own or lease a GM vehicle (excluding Saab). They usually ask for a current copy of the registration card for the GM vehicle to prove you are, or someone at your household's address is, a GM owner. The owner loyalty rebate expires 06/30/2009. I have only interacted with Kerbeck via email so far, so I can't provide an opinion of them. The email interaction was typical of most dealers I have ever dealt with. I have not yet driven the 100 miles there to visit them in person. I think it is important to recognize that the deals on GM and Chrysler vehicles right now are simply unprecedented. Once the companies complete their reorganization, they have made it clear they intend to drastically cut production and equalize supply and demand. Once that happens, rebates and incentives will be minimal, and prices will stabilize (both new and used.) It is starting to happen now. The standard rebate on Acadia is $750. That is "nothing" compared to the $30K+ price of the vehicle, and hardly enough to entice people to buy. What we are seeing is automakers weaning people from rebates. It is long overdue and essential for long term survival.
Great deals

Dealers around here are offering huge incentives on '09 Acadias. One dealer is offering double the factory rebate and 0% GMAC 60 month financing. You get the double rebate and the financing. Additionally, they are putting a dealer discount on the price. Basically, you would get the $750 doubled to $1500, plus GM owners get an additional $1500. GM card holders can also use their "top off" offers. In my case, it would be $5,000 off before the dealer discount, and then 0% financing on top of it. This same dealer has the same offer on '09 Chevy Traverses. There are dealers out there willing to deal, it's just a matter of finding them.
lousy dealership experience

I just purchased an acadia from jack giambovlo GMC in york pa. When I arrived home (2 hrs away) I noticed the state inspection and emissions stickers were due in nov (in 6 months!!). When I let the sales manager know, she basically told me, sorry theres nothing they could do, that they inspect the cars when they come in. Thats bullsh&%! i just spent 45k at their dealer and they wont give me a full year on the state emission and inspection. what terrible customer service, I hope thy're one of the 2600 dealers who get shut down...
Is this a good deal?
