May Changes? MF, Financing, Rebates
by penn2 on Thu May 08 04:36:42 PDT 2008
Car_man thanks for response -- Curious, though, if anything changed from April to May ...for the positive Specifically - MF -- it was @ 7.2% on 36mos/12k mi lease in April. Has that improved? How about financing? Also, in addition to the loyalty rebate/incentive, what else is currently available in May? At one time in April, one dealer was offering up to $6K in combined incentives Thanks

Those numbers appear very consistent. I structured two Yukon leases last month based on the same program GM is still running now. Although the lease rate is slightly high, the 59% residual (39 mo.) and aggressive cap cost make this a fairly decent deal, especially since you're allowed 15k-mi/yr. The only downside to this lease is the inflated residual value, especially if you're thinking about buying out at lease-end. No way in heck that truck will hold 60% after 39 months! If not, keep within your mileage, enjoy the ride and hand 'em the keys at the end. Good Luck!
SLT2 vs Denali vs MDX lease
by artsrt10 on Fri Nov 09 20:20:20 PST 2007
Any thoughts out ther on the diff in prices out there for leases on an SLT2, Denali, and MDX lease? I'd be looking at nothing down (just first month and doc fees, EVERYTHING else in payment) 12k mi and 36/39 mos. Also any thoughts on how much dvd/nav would add to the monthly lease rate? Additionally I def want power liftgate on each vehicle. Also any advice as to which to select? By Jan i will have 2 boys (4 1/2 yr old and newborn) and live in staten Island, NY (city driving will prob affect mpg's signficantly). Any thoughts on diff in mpg for the diff trucks? Thanks!
2008 Acadia Auto Lease..... HELP!!!!
by marvinbil on Fri Sep 07 12:29:16 PDT 2007
I just started this whole lease process, and would love any help in learning how to negotiate. I am looking at 2008 SLT-1 2008 Acadia in Louisiana. It has added DVD System, Convenience Package and Tow Package. I am looking a 36 mo 15,000 mi. per year. They are quoting me 8.99%Rate LEV 22089 with a payment of 628+ taxes. The "final list price is 35520.00 + 397.50 for "Customer Service Package" and various license/Title Fees, etc. I know I can do better, but I want to be armed with facts. Any thoughts........Thank you in advance.
$45,310 for $41,000
by fenwah on Tue Aug 14 12:21:43 PDT 2007
MSRP: $45,310.00 Selling Price: $41,000 (according to their papers, it's $671.85 below invoice...but according to my local dealer who I talked to, it's $1,047.05 below invoice...and I have a hard copy of those papers as well...have no idea why invoice is different at these two dealerships...they are about 150 miles apart) Documentation Fee: $250 (I didn't put up a fight on this since the price was so good) County sales tax of 6.5%: $2681.25 Title Fee: $15.00 30 day tag: $10.50 OTD price: $43,956.75 (before GM earnings) GM Card Earnings are appx. $3400 Knocking it down to ~ $40,556 OTD No trade was involved...found a dealership (Sellers in Farmington Hills, MI) who was selling vehicles through autotrader at just above employee pricing. I used that web site and linked it in with emails to numerous other dealerships in the area. Many dealerships thought I was lying...but it's right there on the web. One dealership came $500 above Seller's price but would deliver it to my house...so I said, "Sold!"

I am in Texas..wanted to lease, but I am being steered by the dealers toward the GMAC Smartbuy program, and to the best of my understanding that is due to some tax law items in this state.. Anyway, even though the dealers have been telling me 8.2% is the rate they are using, my lease calc program tells me they are really marking that up to around 9-9.2%. When I pushed the dealer for a better explanation, he halfheartedly tried to explain the money factor to me (his number didnt make sense). He also mentioned they do mark up the % rate if they are selling the vehicle too low. He told me to call GMAC for further explanation..2 people from GMAC told me that GMAC has nothing to do with the % given at the dealer..they only administer the % as agreed to by the dealer and the consumer. So obviously the games are on. Anyway, the deal I am looking at right now is for a lower level 2007 Acadia, MSRP=31,174. Selling price is $29,800. I would pay $2100 up front in cash (tax, tags, license). 36 months @ 12,000 miles came out to $468 per month. This was using .63 residual. They told me residual was .60 for 15,000 mi/year for 36 months. Also there was a 39 month option that was .62 residual for 12k/year mileage. I am going to wait and hit them with my GM card at the dealer (I have $2300 on that)..Based on my calcs, I should be down around $386/month this way. Need to clarify if I have to pay more $ at signing, such as deposits/fees, etc..
