Re: 08 Yukon Denali [aonic]

Hi aonic. I see that you are considering making a $3,000 down payment on the truck that you want to lease. I always advise community members against making large down payments on leases. Those who make them risk losing part or all of them if their vehicle is totaled in an accident or stolen and never recovered. Even though it means that your monthly payment will be higher, you would be better off going with a zero down lease. GMAC's current base lease rate for the 2008 GMC Yukon Denali is 7.2%. You may be required to make a security deposit on your lease to get this rate though. Make sure that the dealer uses the 7.2% rate instead of the 8.2% rate that you were quoted. Seven percent interest is bad enough compared to the average interest rate on car loans today, there's no need to pay an even higher rate than that. In your post you mentioned this truck's dealer invoice price. What was its selling price? The selling prices of leased vehicles are negotiable, just as if you were paying cash for or financing them. Try to negotiate a selling price that is as close to invoice as possible. If you are in an area that has a decent level of competition, you shouldn't have much trouble finding a dealer that is willing to lease you this truck for less than $1,000 over invoice, given the slow market that we are in right now and the high price of gas. Hi bancroft162. The Acadia is actually selling reasonably well, given the current state of the economy and high gas prices. As a result, General Motors still is not providing much in the way of lease support on it in April. Car_man Host Prices Paid: Buying & Leasing Experiences Forum

Email 20 or so dealers last week of the month. Inform them of your needed options, color choices and requirements, and the fact you are contacting 20 dealers and will buy before end of month. Go thru GMC/Chevy website and get their bids. After round 1 or so give the best your cell # Work the top 3 bids preferably directly with the sales manager. It would probably be easier to do this with Chevy Silverado 2500 as you already have a limited # of dealers where you are and GMC has about 1/4 as many dealers as Chevy. A msrp range of the one your want i.e. 33-34000 may be useful also as its inevitable that stock will have extra items you don't want. In the stix you may have to put in zip codes of different cities nearby and look up inventory and dealer websites within 50-100 mi of them. (google zip code, city) You are shooting for $7000- $8000 off a 33000 machine. I would believe the Diesels are similar to the gas models which I base this on. See what happens with the 20-30 dealers. Not much effort and no traveling. If you beat your local guy over the head with your best bid, he may match it or come close end of month to make a sale. Tell him you would like to work with the local dealership and will give him the highest marks on any customer surveys if you can make a deal. Good Luck --jjf This is the first time I've posted on this site and hopefully I've found the site I'm looking for. I need some advice. I'm looking to buy a new GMC 2500HD SLT 4WD crew cab long box diesel and will probably buy it after September 1st. I live in S/W Arizona and we have one GMC dealer here and they pretty much have the "take it or leave it" attitude as do all the other dealers in town. I'm willing to travel to just about anywhere to save the right amount of money. Aside from contacting a selected dealership in each state and trying to get the best internet price, does anyone have a better suggestion? I know the best deals can be made by buying a truck that's already on a dealer's lot and if the dealer has to go a long distance for a dealer trade, it may not be worth my effort. It's been a long time since I bought a new vehicle and internet pricing wasn't around at that time. Any adice would be appreciated.

I have had my Acadia for three weeks. Compared to my Navigator, gas mileage is great, and have come within 3/10's (16.7 mpg) of the sticker posted mileage for city driving on the last tank of gas. So, I'm happy with the vehicle. Looked hard at the Tahoe and loved the first two rows and hated the third row and the lack of cargo room even with the last row tilted forward. Plus, Acadia beats it in mileage due to the power being being much less.
Re: Denali XL lease HELP!!! [steveprint]
by suv_jerry on Mon Jun 04 19:31:45 PDT 2007
Steve, the numbers you are being quoted sound right. I just leased a fully loaded XL Denali with a sticker of $59k today. I only took the 10k miles and a 39 month term and am paying $807 before taxes. Today was the last day to get the $1,500 rebate applied to the GMAC lease which is rarely seen for leasing. The price they are basing the lease on is $53,795 so with a little discount and the rebate I am happy with the deal. It's close to what Edmunds TMV says. Despite the approaching $4 per gallon for gas, The 2007's are very hot and dealers seem to be able to move them quickly in the the tri-state area of NY-NJ-CT. Hope this helps. Can't wait to pick up the truck tomorrow! Black with black interior. Oh yeah, this is our second black XL Denali in the family as my wife has a 2006. We love it. Turning in my 2004 Pilot EX which I loved, just not enough storage behind the heavily used third row. I think one reason I wanted to own two XL Denalis is to spite Gore!! I must be in good company as no one in this thread is a global warming evangelist. I'm sure by the time we lease our next on we will get the full hybbrid version if available in the XL version. So Al can rest easy. Any other recent lease stories out there?

Good price, however mileage should be better. I am considering an Arcadia (1st American car in 20 years!) and it had allot of appeal including decent prices listed by some posters. I am getting 25 mpg highway miles in my BMW 200 740i at 75mph (confirmed by my cars computer and manual check on gas tank/miles driven and the car has a 302 hp V8! :confuse:
