I wouldn't worry about it being from Mexico at all...that'a a good thing, at least in my view. We used to have an '02 Avalanche out of the same plant in Mexico and it was drum-tight, problem-free, and had perfect paint. That's pretty much the same for most every truck that comes out of Mexico. When we were buying the new Suburban, I encouraged getting one from Mexico if possible, and that's what we were going to get, but it didn't work out and we ended up with a very early built Janesville truck (08/03...!). Build quality pretty much matches our Av, but the front bumper is just a little crooked and it's already had one or two issues with rattles/creaks. Overall still awesome, but I've only ever heard of more issues with the U.S. built ones.
Well, not that it's that awesome of a deal, but we just bought a new '04 Suburban LS 2wd for $300 over invoice, minus the $5,000 loyalty rebate. Knew what we wanted and that no local dealer had it, so we went to the closest one who we've also had a vehicle serviced at and liked, gave them the specs, they did a search and found what matched within 200 miles. Confirmed they could get the truck and did so a few days later. The price wasn't like what some here get, but they gave a great trade-in price on our Avalanche, are nice to deal with, and are just down the road--all of that is worth more than a couple hundred bucks anyway.
I'm wondering the same thing myself! We're trying to get a new Yukon XL right now, but it wasn't built until earlier this month and the shipping is delayed, apparently until the first couple days of June. Would have it right now if it would just arrive at the dealer! Still wouldn't be a problem if we knew what the June incentives might be, but I'm guessing that they'll stay pretty much the same. Overall, though, your guess is as good as mine!
What are the best deals anyone has gotten lately? We're not really in the market and our 2002 Avalanche is still almost flawless at 32k, but we've always wanted a white Yukon XL. Would have to order because we want a base 2wd SLE with only a few options, but might do this if we could get about $10k off. What has anyone else gotten lately on a new '04??
