Pls. help !!!!!
by williepb on Mon Dec 26 21:23:58 PST 2005
Does any one give me advice here. I'm planning to buy a 2006 4 x 4 XLT Expedition($39,700). How much will I expect for all the Rebates/Dealer cash back/Incentives? I live here in Cranston,Rhode Island. I have a trade-in with a negative equity and planning to roll it? What will be the best offer that I can give to the dealer? :confuse:
x-plan
by tyresmoker on Fri Apr 22 05:24:13 PDT 2005
the beauty of the x-plan is hte fact that it is printed on the invoice. All other factory incentives apply on top of the plan price. As far as a leftover that has been sitting, forget it. Remember there have been a few problems with the new design that have been corrected as work-in-progress production corrections. To buy a truck that has been sitting for a year to save a few bucks seems like you are gambling for trouble....Fortunately the KR is VERY rare in the Northeast (presently, there is one copper one in RI), so I really do not mind waiting to get a factory-fresh copy....
EB with Nav Mods vs. Used Nav
by blockislandguy on Fri Mar 05 19:08:48 PST 2004
Jeff88, just wondering. How do you feel about a 2003 Nav with the power folding mirrors for the same price as the 04 EB? With the ued Nav you would get the same three years (the 03 Nav had 4 years, presumably one is now gone) of warranty, better interior, cleaner exterior, the correct mirrors, much less depreciation going forward because the big hit has already happened, etc.
2003 Tribute LX

I just picked up a 2003 Tribute LX with 4WD, ABS, Premium Audio, and Tow as a leftover for $21,500. Its MSRP is $25,050. There was a $2500 rebate involved too.
Monochromatic Paint Disappointing
by blockislandguy on Tue Jan 20 19:22:10 PST 2004
While I haven't seen the monochromatic paint on the EB, I have on the Navigator. For $1100 you get the front facia, rear facia, and the wheel moldings painted in the same color as the body. Period. All in all something a local body shop could do for $300. On the Navigator anyway, they didn't even anodize any of the large amount of the chrome, black, nor do the side mouldings. I think they could have done a much better, more complete job if they wanted a classier, monochromatic look. (Just imagine how classy the roof rack would look if done in anodized black on a black body).

Thanks for the info. I'm still intrigued by your no sweat approach: how did you get the email addreses? Is there a public list of email addresses for Ford dealers? In re-reading your specs, I was struck by how close they were to a Navigator and so I wondered why you didn't consider a Nav. Is it that perhaps Lincoln dealers don't wheel and deal as much as Ford stores so not only would the MSRP be higher but perhaps the discount less?
