Thanks for Blueoval.com tracking tip
by cwgmls on Sun Jul 13 18:02:34 PDT 2008
Thanks to whoever posted the info on receiving tracking from Blueoval.com. In less than an hour (after I finally figured out how to post - you must click on "Post New Topic" way at the bottom), I received the following info on the AWD FEH Base Model, I ordered, as well as a pdf file of the sticker. Unfortunately, no ship date, yet. Receipt Date: 5/9/2008 Serialize Date: 5/22/2008 Segment Date: 5/22/2008 Sequence Date: 6/9/2008 Blend Date: 6/13/2008 Produced Date: 6/23/2008 Gate Release Date: Ship Date: Arrival Date: Sold Date: As far as pricing, I ordered mine through the Z Plan and the price was $27811.34. Thanks to another post, I also found out that the Priority Number I had was 11 - just one off of the highest. This is from a dealer in Central NJ.
FX4 Lease Offer
by jpcarter on Sat Jun 14 12:13:36 PDT 2008
Hi, just left the dealer with this offer: FX4, sticker price $40,690 - purchase price $34,000 / $2,500 down $343.24 per month / 24 months-- they will also throw in bedliner ($216) They are telling me the money factor is 1%, Residual is .57, 10,500 miles a year, For some odd reason they are using $41,385 as the MSRP to figure the residual...has to do with a $695 discount on the sticker for captian's chair??? From looking at the papers it looks like the $2,500 included the first month's payment. Can you let me know if this is a good deal. I feel there should be a little more of a discount but they insist this is the bottom line..... Thanks for your help. I am in central NY
About to sign a lease - I think

Car Man - long time reader, first time poster - I could use some specific help now, beyond all of the general help I've had in the past I've been back in forth on the '08 Tahoe and the '08 Expedition. The Expedition proposal that I am closest to right now is as such: The dealer's MSRP quote on the '08 Limited built out the way I want matches the Edmunds built out MSRP of $47,910. The dealer tells me that he is selling at invoice to me, which he quotes as $44,200. Even if I add in the $300 for the chrome grill they are putting into the Limited (you can't order it as an option from the factory and we don't like the body color grill) he is still a little north of the Edmunds invoice quote. So be it for now: Can you offer an opinion on the whole package: MSRP $47,910 (or $48,210 if you want to add the grill here) Invoice quote of $44,200 12m miles/$634 a month/and a $2,500 check for whatever else (inceptions, cap cost, I don't think I care how they use it do I) The uncomfortable part is that he is telling me that the program can change by the time the truck gets delivered - say mid to late October. How does anyone sign on for that? I think I know my payments but then they change when I actually get it? He says the current program is a $500 rebate, 3.25%, and a 48% residual. I'll take anyone's advice - thumbs up or down? Many thanks. For what it's worth this is being done in Central/Northern New Jersey.
Re: 2008 ford hybrid update [chucklesva]

Why am I only getting 30-31 mpg? I don't get it. Is there a trick to driving a hybrid? Do you have a four wheel drive and you're getting 37mpg? Seriously? I've had my car for almost a month now, (3100 miles on it) driving in central Florida, and using the econ button. The best mileage I've gotten was when I took it to the mountains & was coasting downhill a lot. Then I got 31.9 mpg at the best. Don't get me wrong, I'm still thrilled with the gas mileage, but I'm looking for improvement. Any advice?
Re: Need help deciding on dealer after-market add-ons [bobw3]

bobw3 - you and I have fought battles on the same side around here for a bit of time now but I'm sticking to my old school thinking EVERY TIME, the dealers at the end of the day are just trying to seperate you from your money with this stuff. Until 1999, I lived on the central coast of central california for 20yrs with no shortage of wind, rain, sea breeze, etc., etc.(now I'm in chicago with salt/winter) with absolutely no problems with underbody rust and having owned pre 2000 bmw's, saabs, alfas, isuzu trooper, ford, vw with NONE of them receiving a lick of dealer ripping you off extra "treatments". PROVISION - as long as your paint is in tact and no bare metal is exposed you will have no rust problems & remember the same holds true with undercoating because it's not like it can't get scraped off in areas as well or damaged. I'd advise you and everyone to keep your money during the dealers last ditch effort to simply capitalize on what is a largely useless and hugely PROFITABLE extra that ONLY BENEFITS the dealer. scotchgard your fabric for $8-10 and wax wash your car regularly by hand and you will be well served.
Re: Money Factor, Residual - Leasing Eddie B Expedition [freddy533]
by wvgasguy on Mon Dec 17 05:59:30 PST 2007
That's about the same vehicle I got ($43,800) a month ago, and the interest rate used for the money factor was 0.5% then. However I got a 24 month lease and the residual was 52% due to selecting the 19,500 mile per year option (which was a 3% difference than the 15,000 mile option). It was a lot cheaper to lease for 2 years and then buy than it was to just buy now at current interest rates. I liked the idea of being able to walk away in 2 years if they offer a diesel option or if gas prices are $5, or simply buying it at 52% of MSRP if I still want it.
