Re: Ford Fusion: Prices Paid & Buying Experience [kyfdx]: by joelamp on Thu Aug 09 12:48:20 PDT 2007; We bought a new 07 Milan Premier V6 AWD a couple of weeks ago from Roto L-M in Arlington Hts Illinois, pretty much loaded with everything except Navigation. Used the X-plan from work and also had $1K in rebates plus 2.9% financing. We took our time looking at both the Milan and the Fusion and went to several Ford and L-M stores in Chicagoland. The difference between the shopping experience at Ford stores and L-M stores could not be more dramatic. Every Ford store we went to was basically the old fashioned high pressure "what will it take to get you to buy today" arm twisting meat grinder, while the L-M stores we went to were more of the low pressure "take your time, let me know if I can answer any questions for you" style. Not sure if the L-M division trains their salespeople differently, but we both noticed the difference.

There were so many prices at 3-4 K over sticker that I was beginning to think sticker was a bargain. The guys in Dallas were looking for 3-4 K over sticker for a 2005. I could order a 2006 convertible here for that price. There were plenty of 2005 GTs in the Arlington, TX area a few weeks back if anyone is willing to pay top dollar. Look up the dealer inventory on the Ford web site to confirm. I have priority 11 which I feel good about.

Mustang GT Pricing Experience: by chuntington on Fri Jul 22 13:57:56 PDT 2005; I requested several price quotes via the internet on a 2006 Mustang GT just to see if I could save myself some running around. Nope...The best price I could find was sticker. Almost everyone wanted 1K or more over sticker. The really crazy prices where down in Arlington, TX where they have plenty of 2005 GTs, even now. But they're asking 3-4K over sticker. Anyway, I stopped in on the dealer right by my house. He was one that gave me a price of 1K over sticker a couple weeks ago. I sat down and in a few minutes I had a price 1K under sticker! So I placed my order. Should have it by the end of Sept. Ordered a Mustang GT Premium, Auto, IUP, 17" Aluminum Wheels, Tungsten Silver, Charcoal interior.

Re: Leftover F-250 and F-350 [stoneybroke]: by kcram on Sun May 01 10:23:59 PDT 2005; Visual differences between the 04 and 05 are the nw grille/headlights, and the revised dash and interior. The main difference for 05 is what you can't see immediately. The 05 250/350 is using the frame of the 04 550 (which should give you a hint to what they did to the 550 frame for 05 :) ). And if you're looking at 4x4s, the 05 now uses coil springs up front instead of the 04's leaf springs, which make a big difference in turning radius. kcram - Pickups Host
