Buying a car from a Ford Car Dealer

NY Ford Car Consumer Discussions

PLEASE HELP WITH LEASE by jah0mama on Mon Dec 19 12:37:32 PST 2011

I am reading a lot through these and really just want to know the numbers. I have been to two dealers here in NY and looked at the following:\2012 Edge SEL AWD with sync and touch. according to ford;s national advertisement you can get this model with $4043 down (no incentives). for 10500 miles a year for $249. I went to dealer and he wants total out of pocket of $4800-includes all taxes and everything, $2000 for trade in and $250 a month for 15K miles a year...does this sound right....seems like an awful amount . This is for a 27month lease. How much of invoice price is negotiable???? Everyone saying that ford sets prices period!!!!

In September '06 I bought a ZX5 SE Focus for my son at a dealership located close to St. Louis, Missouri. With safety ABS and (side air bags) and convenience packages minus the $2500 cash back was $14700. My kid overpaid $285, according to Edmund's TMV. He also got a two year extended warranty + tax, registration and plates the OTD was $15800.

ZX5 SE by danielj6 on Sat Sep 30 17:58:03 PDT 2006

Three weeks ago I bought a ZX5 SE Focus for my son at a dealership located close to St. Louis in Missouri. He lives there and I'm in New York. With safety ABS and (side air bags) and convenience packages minus the $2500 cash back was $14700. My kid overpaid $285, according to Edmund's TMV. He also got a two year extended warranty + tax, registration and plates the OTD was $15800. He and I considered Nissan's Sentra, Honda's Civic, Toyota's Corolla and Chevrolet's Cobalt but finally went for the Ford. I wanted him to get the Sedan but he liked the hatchback. The boy is very happy good the acquisition.

Re: Using Rebates to bury negative equity [javner] by carnuts on Wed Nov 03 20:39:28 PST 2004

javner- you are right from NY times Differences in resale values can add up. For instance, a four-wheel-drive 2005 Ford Explorer Limited selling for $40,480 is projected to lose 64 percent of its value in four years, meaning that it would fall to $14,525, according to the Automotive Lease Guide, another company that tracks used car values. By comparison, a 2005 Toyota 4Runner Limited with four-wheel drive, selling for $38,500, is expected to retain 47 percent of its value and resell for about $20,000. . http://www.iht.com/articles/535867.html
