Chuck: What is your dealer doing on Expedition leases? I have a 5000# boat to tow and the Edge won't pull it. Eddie Bauer regular length Expedition would fit the bill nicely. I am in SE KS so Blair, NE is not that much of a strect for me.

No, I didn't mean you were paying the sales tax out of pocket. I just don't get how they got that number (sales tax: $809.71) It's not 5% of the sales price, not 5% of the net cap minus residual. It's not 5% of your monthly payment. I don't get it. The about $3,100 was before rebate but included acq fee. He quoted me a rebate of $1,250. So, really total it would be NEARLY $5,000 off sticker. ($3,100 sale price, $1,250 rebate, $595 acq fee included). If you can qualify for the additional $500 rebate it would be almost $5,500 OFF STICKER with no out of pocket. I was inquiring about this quote for elliemaej. If you are interested, the dealer is Woodhouse Ford in Blair, NE. They said they could deliver a car for $0.30 per mile both ways. I got my Edge from them in April and immediately was quoted by email a little over $28,800 on an MSRP of $32,690. I just don't get how some of your dealers are still not even giving invoice prices on these 2007's. It's like they want to keep them forever.
2008 Exped Limited EL 4x4 lease [Car_man]
by antnec on Sun Aug 12 07:04:24 PDT 2007
hello Car Man thanks for all the info the car will be leased from either a NE Pa. NJ, NY or Ct. dealer 2008 Expedition Limited EL 4x4 MSRP 50,275 24 month 19,500 no money down 1,029 a month out the door (including tax and title etc) he didn't mention a security deposit he told me the Value would be 52% from 56% due to losing 1% for every 1,500 miles over 15,000 vs a 2007 at 52% - 4% due to mileage and a 2,000 rebate the value is 52% of what ever I pay for it in this case it is rated on $50,275? Money factor was 1% if I divide this 1% by 2400 I get 0.0000041666666667 is this the correct number to use? Does the dealer get a holdback for a customer ordered car? This dealer is also a Certified Blue dealer. He also told me that he was sure that he will give the best price around. I don't know how much if he did take off, since I just wanted to get an idea of lease payments and I didn't even start neg. price. So just wondering if I'm using the numbers correctly 52% of what and finding the money factor so I can plug those numbers in and do it myself thanks Anthony Bronx NY

The dealer's name is Woodhouse Ford in Blair, Ne. Just outside of Omaha. They sell cars all over the U.S. becuase they can beat almost any deal. I think the salesman said they sold around 27,000 cars to EVERY state in the U.S. in 2005. My brother just bought a 2007 Chrysler from them and they didn't have what he wanted on the lot so they had to get one from Illinois. They drove 300 miles to his house to let him use one of their new Dodge Calibers as a rental car until his car could be transported to the lot (about 10 days). Then they still beat his local dealer's best price by $1200. They are amazing. I will be leasing/buying from them forever.
Re: 2007 EB Explorer Lease question [luckycait]
by Car_man on Fri Jun 08 02:19:54 PDT 2007
Hi luckycait. You are currently $9,000 upside down on your Solara. Ouch . Unless you really need to get an SUV for some reason, like your family is expanding it would really ne in your best interest to wait until you are less upside down on your car to get something new. If you really have to get a new vehicle now, the Explorer is a good one to go with because you will be able to get a pretty big discount on it that will absorb most of your negative equity. The fact that you will be able to lease this truck through the X-Plan is great. It means that you will be able to get an excellent deal on it without having to haggle. Let's work up a lease payment on this truck and see what we come up with. According to my calculations, if you were to lease a 2007 Ford Explorer XLT 4WD that has an MSRP of $31,120 and a capitalized cost of $32,957 ($29,957 selling price - $4,000 lease cash - $2,000 cap cost reduction + $9,000 negative equity) through Ford Credit right now for 36 months with 12,000 miles per year, your $2,000 down, pre-tax monthly payment would be around $571. As you can see, there seems to be something wrong with the monthly payment that you were quoted. There's no way that sales tax adds $100 per month to your payment. If I was in your situation I would comparison shop with another dealer or two. Car_man Host Prices Paid Forum
FEH and leasing

Has anyone looked into leasing an FEH? If so did you lease and why or why not? The FEH has made my list and so I'm just poking around for information as thoughts pop up in my head. THanks in advance! -cosanostra1
