2008 Ford Explorer EB v8 Lease
by aleatory on Sun Feb 17 13:55:39 PST 2008
Car_man, I'm in Maryland, and am looking at leasing a 2008 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer v8 4x4. MSRP with options is $39,345 and the invoice is $36,411. There is an additional $3,500 lease incentive available. I am anticipating negotiating a high of $300 over invoice--$33,241. What is the (1) residual value and (2) interest rate to lease this vehicle for 39 months with 15,000 miles per year? Thanks in advance!
Recent inventories & buying experience?
by baysailor on Sun Jan 20 19:40:21 PST 2008
Folks, I am new to this forum, only started looking for either a FEH or MMH a week ago. Had a 02 Mazda Tribute for two years and really liked the car, wife gave it up to our daughter in Texas. She wants the hybrid - bad - and I'm probably going to go along since the last 2 car buying decisions have been mine. I've seen on the message board a lot of frustration about ordering delays, which I may not want to go thru. Also, there are several dealer locally that seem to have inventory, but the trucks all have the full boat of accessories, and my guess is that all (or at least most) of the ones shipped to dealers are like that to maximize dealer and FMC profits, since they're not making money on these, or are just barely. So my question is, if I want to get one of these (either type) by April, can I trust the system to work on a special order, or do you think I'll be forced to just get the best deal I can locally. There are about 8 showing up as available in the DC/MD area. Also, what types of incentives or discount buying services, like Costco, are available that the dealers will take? Cheers,

It is a great time to buy. In the Northeast US, it is $2000 rebate, or $1500 with Ford lower interest financing. The 5.9% financing Ford is offering for 5 years is only slightly less than the 6.1% I got on my own from a credit union. I saw you said that the rebate in the Northeast US is $2000. I am also in the Northeast US and I had thought that the rebate is only $1500. Thinking that my info might be wrong, I checked the Ford website. Looks like the rebate for NJ, NY, and New England is, in fact, $1500. However, the rebate for PA, DE, MD, and VA is $2000. I am guessing that you bought in one of these states. Maybe I should have driven an hour to PA to make my Taurus X deal!!! :)
ABOVE STICKER PRICING ON FEH
by lorenej on Sun Oct 21 12:51:34 PDT 2007
A Ford dealership in Columbia, MD is telling me that there is such a demand for the FEH, that the last two have sold at 2500-5000 above sticker price. The salesman is telling me that they had to "BUY" the two they have on the lot from a dealership in California, plus pay transportation to get here. Has anyone heard of the FEH selling above sticker price? After the negotiating began, he was willing to come "down" to sticker price, but I walked away. I know they have to make a buck or 2, but I am very much against buying at sticker and I'm definitely not buying above sticker.
2008 EB FWD

Eddie Bauer Package w/ Aux climate controll, heated seats, back up sensor. Black w/ tan interior Purchased 10/12/07 Silver Spring MD List $30,155 + 750 Dest. = 30,905 Invoice $28.193 Less $1,500 rebate Paid $26,693 + 750 Dest. = 27,443 My X replaces a totaled '01 Escape  . This is a nice daddy mobile, not too station wagon like. The EB package makes the X much more, well manly :) The first tank of gas netted me around 17.5 mpg, not bad since most of the driving was city/suburban stop and go. When I first filled her up and reset the computer, I was up to 30 mpg on a 20 mile stretch of interstate...I can't wait to get her out on a nice long trip.
Re: July Incentives [1000hours]

Their is an additional $645 for the auto, brining the rebates for me to $2145. Went to the dealer this past Thursday and couldnt agree on a price. I am in no rush, however I am having a hard time finding a loaded (Premium) GT Auto here in MD/Northern VA. They have the model I am looking at in Frederick MD, I just didnt think they were budging enough for me, time will tell. Good luck to you as well.
