Re: Need help! Am I getting ripped off? [hardhawk]

I live in Utah, and the AWD is the reason that I am getting the edge. Right now I drive a Cadillac CTS with RWD and I can't get anywhere when it snows. Do you think that it should be possible to get a payment close to 400 with that Edge? Are those inception fees normal? With the inception fees, it zeroes out any rebates! I am not trading in anything because they couldn't give me enough for my cadillac, so yes it is a clean, straight lease on my part (not the dealers obviously)! I went into the dealers and told them that I thought that the payment was way too high and that I felt that I was getting ripped off and so they took me in front of their computer and "proved" to me that they were only making $100 on this deal! Yeah right huh? They showed me the invoice that supposedly "we don't usually show this to buyers," and it showed invoice price at 34315.05. Do dealers really pay that much for it? Can they lower the price to less than that? What numbers on my deal need to change to get the monthly payment lower? P.S. Thanks so much for all your help!
Lease Questions in CT

I am new to leasing but am considering a 36 mos. lease on an XLT or FX4 4x4 that has a tow package for our horse trailer. Are there any deals in the 06066 zip code and what should I consider in terms of a lease. Thanks.

Chuck, I think you are partially correct, all I know, and don't get mad at this NJ guy...remember, I will go NB and you will armor your EDGE and come to NY (with your BAMR)...but I do get pin # for X plans and the dealers, once you use it, they do get into the Ford system to verify if you are legit (name and your lat 4 digits of your social). The only advantage is that the dealer can not charge you for anything else except tax, registartion and plates and it is usually a few dollrs below dealer invoice. Most dealers in the NY/NJ/CT area like to charge upwards of $300..for doc and whatever else the can dream off..

Chuck, I am paying first months payment plus the 795 (595 acq fee and 170 motor vehicle registration fee) up front. That was my choice. I prefer to not pay sales tax on these items. If they were included, my payment would go up $34/month. Why pay an extra $50 in sales tax (6% in Ct) if not needed. Plus I will put the out of pocket cost on my credit card and get the miles (of course, I will pay it off when the bill comes in)
2008 Exped Limited EL 4x4 lease [Car_man]
by antnec on Sun Aug 12 07:04:24 PDT 2007
hello Car Man thanks for all the info the car will be leased from either a NE Pa. NJ, NY or Ct. dealer 2008 Expedition Limited EL 4x4 MSRP 50,275 24 month 19,500 no money down 1,029 a month out the door (including tax and title etc) he didn't mention a security deposit he told me the Value would be 52% from 56% due to losing 1% for every 1,500 miles over 15,000 vs a 2007 at 52% - 4% due to mileage and a 2,000 rebate the value is 52% of what ever I pay for it in this case it is rated on $50,275? Money factor was 1% if I divide this 1% by 2400 I get 0.0000041666666667 is this the correct number to use? Does the dealer get a holdback for a customer ordered car? This dealer is also a Certified Blue dealer. He also told me that he was sure that he will give the best price around. I don't know how much if he did take off, since I just wanted to get an idea of lease payments and I didn't even start neg. price. So just wondering if I'm using the numbers correctly 52% of what and finding the money factor so I can plug those numbers in and do it myself thanks Anthony Bronx NY
