Re: Has anyone received their 2009 Escape Hybrid? [fmorriso]
by hdtech on Tue Jul 08 22:19:59 PDT 2008
Fred. I have the same problem. "Clean" but "Unscheduled" and they are telling me that this allocation is truly a waiting game over which they have absolutely no control. This is frustrating as we ordered a 2008 but passed when it finally showed up in May. I didnt want end of the year stuff and I really liked the changed coming to the 2009. We are in Colorado Springs so not the biggest market in the world but respectable nonetheless. To see the later post that Longmont CO will have 2 this weekend really ticked me off. We are at least 5-6x bigger than they are. OK, they are a remote Denver suburb.... I am just frustrated. If anyone has any suggestion to get my 2009 sooner, please post or PM me!!
dealer markup
by timberkk on Thu Apr 17 22:36:18 PDT 2008
So I went in today to buy a great looking black pearl Escape Hybrid in CastleRock, CO. But the price that was offered to me was $5000 more than the listed MSRP, they called it a dealer markup. I had an X plan pin number and that only took the price down to about 800 above the MSRP. I could not believe it!! I told them there is NO way that I was going to pay them an extra $5000 just because they feel that they can get it. They dropped it $1000. I still said no and I ended up walking out of the dealership with no vehicle. It is all about supply and demand and there is probably someone out there who will pay the extra $5000 but not me. Has anyone else experienced this same thing? I guess I will wait for the 2009.

No one has added anything to this thread in a couple of weeks, but I'll add my experience anyway. Rich Ford in Albuquerque had 6 FEH's as of last Friday when I purchased mine (Z plan). I searched online inventory in NM and CO, and only a few dealers had any at all (of those, most have one or two).

Dealer is Maroone, Mike, and the delivery situation is as you have quoted. I'd pass along one technical note that I discovered yesterday, and which the dealers do not all seem to be aware of, which is that the Nav System in the 2008 vehicles is the new Ford Motor Co touchscreen system ( that is in the new Lincoln's as well ) and is certainly resolves the complaints regarding the original system. You can find the Operators Guide for it by rooting around the Ford.com website. Thanks, John
2008 Escape Lease
by nkco on Wed May 16 17:31:05 PDT 2007
Hi Car_Man, I'm looking to lease a 2008 Escape Hybrid 4WD for 36 month and 12000 miles a year in Denver, CO. I'm ok with a base model, but I would like the sun roof and upgraded stereo. I know there is bonus back right now ($545?) and also I'm a grad student so I should get another $500 bonus back. What kind of residual and money factor (or rate) can I expect from Ford right now? I want to make sure I know how much they're trying to rip me off when I go in to look. Thanks for your help!
Re: Loaded 2007 FEH from Galpin Ford in Southern California [zoltano]

Not that it matters, just an FYI for everyone, there are not "$7500 incentives" available on '07 Escapes. The only incentive is $3000 from Ford. Savvy buyers can negotiate an additional $2000 to $2500. Dealers want to move the last '07s which have been in stock since last fall, most of which are $33100 units equipped by Ford with their remaining old style nav systems. The final $2000 in the example is a personal Federal income tax credit ($1950), which most buyers can claim next year against '07 income. Some buyers, like a retired person who pays no tax, would not get that. Also, people with other credits may get caught up in the AMT (Alternative Minimum Tax) if they try to claim a hybrid credit, too. Also, sales tax is calculated on ~$27600, not $25600. Again, not to nitpick, but just to point out that the example is not exactly a $25600 + tax purchase. It's still a great deal, though!
