Buying a car from a Ford Car Dealer
Hi Car_Man, Thanks for your help! Can you provide current money factor and residual value percentage info for a 2012 Mustang v6 premium for 39 month lease (not 36) and 15,000 miles per year? Cap cost with options at approx $29500 I see you posting Ford Credit's base lease rates around 2.25%. Can you explain how this rate is adjusted by dealers, or rather how we can use this rate to help figure out if we are getting a good rate? For example 2.25% seems an insanely low lease rate as this would imply a money factor of 0.00094. But according to Bankrate, for my area (Los Angeles, CA) a GOOD rate will be closer to 4.5% (0.00188). Which is what I would expect to see at the dealer. Any clarification would be helpful. Thanks!
I purchased a Fusion 2011 SE I-4 FWD with automatic transmission and a spoiler and remote start. The MSRP is $26579 including destination fees ($1350). I paid $20600 after Ford employee rebate of $4352 (can find the info at Ford.ca) and lot of phone calls and negotiations with different dealers across the Province of Quebec. It looks like I saved around $6000 from the sticker price. The invoice is $24896 available at Carsaver.ca. The Ford financing is 3.9%@60 months, giving $430/month. I know that it is a little higher of what you guys pay in the US. At the end the dealer told that I made the best bargain of the month. Should I believe that? So far I truly love the car. The handling, confort, design and pricing are on top of the list. I used to drive a Chevy Malibu for 8 years. In the last weeks, I tested the Camry, Sonata, Malibu and Mazda6 before getting the Fusion.
This TrueCar $28500 does not include the Automatic Transmission which itself is $1100. Also all of the premium convertibles available in CA, had some costly option with it (rear camera, pony package, anti-theft,etc) which was increasing the price. Also none were available in Candy Red/Kona Blue I wanted. So actually I ordered my v6 car to be build and got this in 6 weeks. This is a 36 month lease. Also if you see previous posts, car_man also gave the same numbers for 10,500 mileage - 53% residual and 2.75% rate for Ford Motor Credit. Anyway, Thanks for all the details. I will definitely remember them for my next lease :) -Vaibhave
In San Diego, CA - Shopping for a 2012 Ford Mustang Conv V6. Bad car shopping experience yesterday - 31 May. Sticker price $34,340. After our awful experience with sales rep our OTD price somehow ended up being $42,000. Needless to say we left with no Mustang. We have very good credit. What are other people paying right now for the same car? Just out of curiosity?
So I have a quote (via Costco) for 31,060 for a Fusion Hybrid with the 502a package. I assume there will be no other fees besides the doc/tire/tax/title for CA. What do you guys think - good price or do I have more room for bargaining ? Has any dealer thrown in free service for x years as part of your fusion hybrid deal ? Also, any recommendations for a site to get the extended warranty (how much should I expect to pay for extended warranty ?)
