We called to make an offer on a truck, and the lady who took the call discussed our offer with a specific manager. She told us the manager had accepted our offer. We drove an hour and ten minutes, test drove the vehicle, asked for the history on the vehicle, and sat down to do paperwork. The salesman came back without a history, and the paperwork was for $5,000 more than our offer. We explained again that the manager had already accepted our offer. The salesmen told us the woman who took the call could not negotiate rates. We explained that she went to that specific manager with our offer, and he accepted it and we told them we were coming to start paperwork. He told us we could not have the truck for what we had offered for it. We asked if we were lied to just to get us in the door, to which he had no answer. To be fair, I am leaving out names, but we feel that we were told a lie to get us in the door, and this was not disputed. We thanked the salesman for his time and promptly left. Even if they call us back accepting the offer, it seems funny that we never got to see the history on the truck, and don't feel the manager was trustworthy. We don't know if the people answering the phones know about this practice, but we will not do business with this dealership and will tell others: Buyers Beware!
